Another bit of progress

Sorry about the poor quality photo - it's dull and yucky (and snowy) here again today.  There's not a lot that has changed on this, with the exception of the drift of shells and beads and the addition of a teeny tiny little white sailboat on the horizon (an earring in a previous life).

Today the quote, found among my mothers things, is this....."Remember when you are up against an apparent impossibility, you may be on the edge of the most wonderful discovery you have ever made"

  3. Hooray, hooray, Blogger worked for me :-)))) I'll keep crossed fingers that it keeps working.

Your summer scene is wonderful. I love the depth of the cliff to sand, which gives great perspective to the castle. the gulls are perfect. Where do you get your wee patterns? The foam on the shoreline looks real, the lighthouse looks good and yachts no doubt have happy sailors aboard enjoying the lazy days and sunshine.

    Hello Mary Anne,
I'm interested to know how you attach your shells - are they sewn, or glued? I'm creating a picture with fabric which is a night scene, with the moon reflecting on some water. In the foreground I would like to introduce some animals (buttons)- owl in the tree; rabbit on the ground, etc.
Have you any advice for me?
Love your picture, good to see it coming to fruition.
    Best wishes,
    Val, (France & UK)

  7. Proof that you can find charms for your needlework anywhere!! I like those shells and the mix of other items that probably washed up from the shore. Loving the progress you are sharing while stitching this pillow.

  9. I can't believe you still have yucky snowy weather, here's to your Spring. We haven't quite finished with our Summer who is having a last burst of enthusiasm for life over here, but we will soon send her on her way to you with love! It's lovely that you can join me for a trip to the beach today!! I love quotes, this one is joy that your Mother found.
