Let There Be Dragons!

Well, one dragon anyway!

Our grandson, who loves to "roar-rrrrr", will be getting this.  It's actually a sleeping bag, believe it or not.  It's crocheted with a double strand of thick yarn with a size Q crochet hook - almost the size of a broomstick.  Not the easiest thing on arthritic fingers!

The pattern is the 'Bulky & Quick Dragon Blanket' designed by MJ's Off the Hook Designs and is available on Ravelry.  If you end up making one, I would recommend you buy one additional ball of each of the main colours.  I had to re-order  extra to complete this one.

Today your quote is from Peter Yarrow...."Puff, the Magic Dragon, lived by the sea, and frolicked in the Autumn Mist in a land called Honah Lee.  Little Jacky Paper loved that rascal Puff, and gave him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff"

There be dragons!

Well, just one dragon, but that's okay.

Cross stitched, using waste canvas

I put this little guy on the Oriental hussif I'm working on.

Today the quote is from Beverly Sills... "You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try"

Introducing....Ellyllon!!!

Here she is...sporting wonderful eyelashes and a beaded crown. Her name is Ellyllon (Elly for short). She is NOT a fierce dragon and is much more laid back in her approach to life. Please click on the pictures for more detail!

Once again, I want to thank Amy, the pattern designer, for giving me the opportunity to test this pattern for her. I have had a great deal of fun and am no longer afraid to try patterns that are marked as being 'advanced', for which I thank Amy.

AND.....we have a dragon!!!

Here he is!! Sorry about the poor pictures but, of course, the camera batteries decided to die in the middle of his photo shoot. He still needs his decorations but you can see pretty much what he's going to look like here.
He's 36" long and about 10" tall and was such wonderful fun to make. Amy has created a great pattern! The pattern will be for sale very shortly and I'll be sure to let you know when and where you can get it. In the meantime, don't forget you can see more dragons here.

I'll be posting more photos once he gets his decorations, so stay tuned.
