I finished a small project that is destined for the Christmas box....

This measures about 11 1/2" square and the pattern I used came from HERE.

As a little aside that falls under the 'small world' category, my friend and I were video-chatting and for some reason childhood toys came up.  She was talking about a Lassie dog pajama bag she had as a child and we began to wonder if we had both had the exact same one.  I scrounged around and found this picture of my bedgraggled, much-loved, Lassie and sent to her.  Amazingly, it turns out it's the same one as she had.

Somehow I doubt hers was in  quite as bad a shape as this one!

- Have a peek through the creations of THIS artist - I love her use of colour!

- Although there's no real 'pattern' for THIS, it would be easy to create using any size of hexie.

- THIS would be handy for so many different things.

- There are some fun ideas HERE for making glass mushrooms for your decor.  I love the ones made with the glass marbles (scroll down).

Today's quote is from Normal Vincent Peale..."Dwelling on negative thoughts is like fertilizing weeds"

Mumblings?

First of all, the mailman brought a lovely selection of new threads for me to use on the new advent calendar....

If you live in Canada and are searching for all sorts of things needlework (including fabric) have a look at THIS wonderful site.  I emailed them the photo of the colours our little one is going to have in her room and Jennifer very kindly chose all of these for me.  That's going above and beyond what's in her job description I'm sure!  No affiliation - just a happy customer!

And just look at all that fabric goodness piled on my sewing room floor!  A friend invited me to come and 'relieve' her of some of her stash, which I was more than happy to do.  There's lots of inspiration in that wonderful pile.  Thank you Connie!!!

Over the weekend I put together this fabric panel which is going into the box for our #3 'Grand' for his birthday.  It, along with the perfect set of toy 'diggers', should be fun for him.

This is the fabric I found in one of the online shops that is perfect for the backing.

Just a little bit of outline quilting and it was done.

Today your quote is from Amy Weatherly..."Some people could be given an entire field of roses and only see the thorns in it.  Others could be given a single weed and only see the wildflower in it.  Perception is a key component to gratitude, and gratitude is a key component to joy"

Done!!

One more Christmas present done this afternoon. I honestly thought this one would take a lot longer so I was pleasantly surprised.

For those who are wondering it's a pattern from 'Seams Like Glass Designs' by Lise Merchant (who happens to come from Whitehorse, Yukon) called 'Chickadee Dee...Dee...' (obviously). Reverse Applique and machine quilted. Size is approximately 27" square.

We were in Toronto yesterday 'having Christmas' with #2 son and his girlfriend. She might be leaving for France in a couple of weeks and won't be here for Christmas, so we thought we should give her the presents early. They gave us a two day trip to a B&B, which we can use anytime in the next year. That was really nice because anyone who knows us knows that we never get away. This will be a real treat!
