Yes, I rather doubt you can see too much difference with the landscape but trust me - there is. I played with the truck and the embroidery in the grass area.
I fired up the backhoe and did a little clearing out in my sewing room and came across this book that is on the way out. If you're interested in it, let me know in the comments (first come, first served and all that). It was published in 1974 so it's old, but the illustrations inside are charming, touching on all sorts of crafts we did back in the day.
- I think THIS would be a fun thing to do! For both adults AND kids!!
- Some of you might find THIS of interest.
- Have a look at the amazing artistry HERE - done with cheesecloth! (Thanks Joy for telling me about this one)
- Being that dandelion season will soon be upon us, perhaps THIS might interest you.
I love dandelions, and ours are now mostly clocks, equally lovely to see and tell time by!
ReplyDeleteI love them too and they are so important to the well being of so many of our pollinators.
DeleteI can definitely see the additional work you did on both the truck and the grassy parts!! Just amazing and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteNice work Hugs, Julierose
Glad it was noticeable! Thank you Julierose.
DeleteIs the fabric your using for the wood on cabin/house actually printed like that? If so it's amazing and where did you buy it?
ReplyDeleteThe fabric I use is printed like that, however I augment it with lots of machine stitching to give it further definition, along with shading with pencil crayons and paint. I honestly can't remember where I purchased it because I bought it several years ago. All I can say is an online search of different fabric shops should yield you something similar.
DeleteI see your progress. The truck does look more defined.
ReplyDeleteCheesecloth is a lovely thing to work into paitings.
I'm happy with the truck now and I think I made the right decision to embiggen it just a tad.
DeleteI do see the progress on the truck, an amazing quilt.
ReplyDeleteCatherine🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Thanks you Catherine - it was fun to make.
DeleteI can mostly see the work you did in the grass.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I know it's hard to see in the photo but I did add some embroidery here and there.
DeleteYour landscape is looking really nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Will be posting a picture of the finished landscape on Monday.
DeleteNever heard of Dandelion Clocks, the water trick or Honey. I have heard of them being in salads. All I know is in earlier days, I dug deep to get those roots pulled up because people called them weeds. So when the puffies go flying off, all I think of is the many more Dandelions that will be popping up.
ReplyDeleteI know it's been the mindset for so many years that dandelions are unattractive and need to be destroyed at all costs. Sadly we now have to be mindful of the pollinators and try to let the dandelions do their thing but unfortunately you often end up living beside the 'green carpet fanatic' who frowns on your pretty yellow lawn.
DeleteI see the progress too, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can't see where anyone is interested in the Crafts book. If it is available I would like to purchase. And I know how expensive it can be to send it and I will cover the cost. I love looking at older craft books for inspiration and ideas.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Marion - but it's been claimed. Thank you for your interest though!!
DeleteThose dandelion clocks look fun! People who think of stuff like this just amaze me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I sometimes wonder how they come up with some of the interesting 'stuff' I stumble across.
