this weekend....so...Happy Thanksgiving
to my Canadian friends!
I've done a bit more to the denim landscape as you can see from this photo.....
Most of the detailing has been done on the house and I'm starting to quilt the background.
- Barbara posted about THIS on her blog and I thought it was interesting enough to share with you.
- THESE made me smile, although I don't know how useful they'd actually be.
- THESE could go along with the snowman I showed you the other day!
- I can think of more uses for THESE and I expect you can too.
Today the quote is from Rumi..."Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder"
Happy Thanksgiving! It took me by surprise this year.
ReplyDeleteIt takes me by surprise every year. I'm not ready for the dreaded winter to come and it's marching forward every day.
DeleteLove your denim piece--just reminds me of our stormy days to come this winter Season...nice work;))) hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThank you - that's exactly the effect I was hoping for!
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you! I like the denim landscape and the Rumi quote.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's a normal day for us but I know lots of people are celebrating.
DeleteThat must have been amusing to see...the guys have a canoe split trying to get over that pretty falls. What people try to do! Anyway, this is such a neat project and as always, turning out beautifully. I have a friend who photographs abandoned houses in Newfoundland and some are really neat. I think of you when I see them. As always thanks for the links!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was certainly something that stuck in our memory.
DeleteSherry of createology: Happy Thanksgiving Dear to you and Resident Chef. Your denim landscape is coming along nicely. I would think it more difficult to work with denim and the thicknesses of it. Great Rumi quote.
ReplyDeleteThank you - pretty low key celebration for us. And yes, you're right - denim isn't easy to work with. I made too many recycled denim jackets to count and finally had to give them up because the layers of denim were too difficult to deal with.
DeleteYou are already making great progress on the new landscape and it's looking magnificent. I love those Rumi quotes.
ReplyDeleteThe landscape is certainly different than anything I've done before. It's something I've been toying with doing for awhile.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving to our Friends to the north, this denim quilt is beautiful, you are so creative.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
Thank you....on all fronts!
DeleteHapy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteLate a bit though
No worries, thank you!
DeleteOooh... That is coming along nicely, Mary Anne. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteOur Thanksgiving was just like another day for us. It's not a holiday that we really celebrate as such now that our family isn't closeby.
DeleteA Belated Happy Thanksgiving wish to you and your family. Thanks for sending me to see the pretty little houses and I've bookmarked a couple of those links too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And glad you found something in the links to interest you.
