A pile

I spent some time sewing tea towels (16 of them, to be exact) that are destined for the Christmas box...

Otherwise, there's been nothing on the creative front happening here at Chez Magpie.

- Have a peek at the gallery of THIS incredible artist!  Would that I could crochet like him!

- Perhaps making one (or more) of THESE would be useful.

- Last time I was at a thrift store I noticed they had a pile of glass cases and had I thought of it I should have picked some up to make some of THESE.

- If you have some of the glasses you used to see the eclipse, check out THIS and consider donating them. (UPDATED TO ADD:  Please also see Boud's comment attached to this post for another suggestion of donation for the glasses).

  1. I have already sent my glasses to a collection center in Utah for Hispanic children to use at their August eclipse. Such a good idea, they put out the request the day after, while we could still lay hands on them.

  2. Your Christmas box is always filled with wonderful pretties! There must be quite the collection by the time Christmas comes around again. Oh my, those crochet works of art are beyond amazing.

    1. I thought tea towels wouldn't come amiss and I'll likely package them with maybe some wooden spoons for a little finishing touch.
And yes, those crochet pieces ARE incredible, aren't they.

    1. I ordered the fabric online and am really pleased with it; enough so that I ordered a second lot.

  4. I have gotten toweling yardage. Also uncut napkin yardage.

    1. I liked this yardage because all I had to do was cut it to length and simply hem the ends - the sides were already done.

Sherry of createology: Your towels are wonderful and a great gift especially with a spoon or spatula. Every Kitchen can always use a new towel and utensil. Todd the amazing crochet artist creates stunning wall hangings. No eclipse viewing glasses here.

    1. I'm trying hard to make gifts that are practical. Some of these will be gifts on their own and others will be part of a larger gift.
