I spent some time sewing tea towels (16 of them, to be exact) that are destined for the Christmas box...
Otherwise, there's been nothing on the creative front happening here at Chez Magpie.
- Have a peek at the gallery of THIS incredible artist! Would that I could crochet like him!
- Perhaps making one (or more) of THESE would be useful.
- Last time I was at a thrift store I noticed they had a pile of glass cases and had I thought of it I should have picked some up to make some of THESE.
- If you have some of the glasses you used to see the eclipse, check out THIS and consider donating them. (UPDATED TO ADD: Please also see Boud's comment attached to this post for another suggestion of donation for the glasses).
I have already sent my glasses to a collection center in Utah for Hispanic children to use at their August eclipse. Such a good idea, they put out the request the day after, while we could still lay hands on them.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know about the Hispanic children collection and will update my post to reflect that - thanks.
DeleteYour Christmas box is always filled with wonderful pretties! There must be quite the collection by the time Christmas comes around again. Oh my, those crochet works of art are beyond amazing.
ReplyDeleteI thought tea towels wouldn't come amiss and I'll likely package them with maybe some wooden spoons for a little finishing touch.
DeleteAnd yes, those crochet pieces ARE incredible, aren't they.
Very pretty tea towels--love those fabrics...great "sewing-on-the-go" idea for glass cases--thanks hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI ordered the fabric online and am really pleased with it; enough so that I ordered a second lot.
DeleteI have gotten toweling yardage. Also uncut napkin yardage.
ReplyDeleteI liked this yardage because all I had to do was cut it to length and simply hem the ends - the sides were already done.
DeleteSherry of createology: Your towels are wonderful and a great gift especially with a spoon or spatula. Every Kitchen can always use a new towel and utensil. Todd the amazing crochet artist creates stunning wall hangings. No eclipse viewing glasses here.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard to make gifts that are practical. Some of these will be gifts on their own and others will be part of a larger gift.
DeleteOooh... I love a nice tea towel. Those will make very nice gifts.
ReplyDeleteI think tea towels never come amiss and these are really nice quality so should last for awhile.
DeleteLove your towels, so classy but vintage looking.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the links.

I thought they had somewhat of a vintage look too, so thank you for seeing it.
DeleteYou always get the Christmas box filled early. I really like those tea towels.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I'm working on the box - a little at a time!
DeleteLonely Sentinel is haunting and beautiful...last post. I checked out that crocheter...omgoodness...wow. I once made a sewing kit from a hard glass case many many moons ago. Great links. Yes your towels are vintage looking which is all the rage now. They will make great gifts.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jocelyn. And you're right - that crocheting IS ohmygoodnesswow for sure!
DeleteThose tea towels are a great gift idea and I'm sure will be very much appreciated. Just bought a pretty eyeglass case from TEMu but my sunglasses don't fit in it, but now I have a way to put it to good use thanks to you!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought tea towels would be a good consumable gift. Glad you found something in the links!
