Today's quote..."I get most of my exercise these days from shaking my head in disbelief"
What a beauty this art quilt is!! I love the way the grasses butt up in front of the truck making it seem so dimensional--lovely work on all that floral embroidery too ;)))...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteWish my camera was better equipped to get better pictures of some of the landscapes. No matter what I did this one didn't want to cooperate.
DeleteThis is lovely! Especially the flower section.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to have become my 'thing' to add flowers and grasses to the landscapes. For some reason they don't feel finished without them.
DeleteSherry of createology: Mary Anne Dear you have created such an interesting and detailed landscape with the hexies and embroidery. It evokes a wonderful nostalgia of simpler times. Your links are always a delight in eye candy. This quote could be funny if not so true these days. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteResident Chef got over his dislike of the hexies when he saw the finished design so I guess I did something right. It was a fun experiment anyway.
DeleteHooray! It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nann! Now to decide which one to do next.
DeleteIt's beautiful - love the old truck in the field and the embroidery detail you added is perfect. You sure have a talent for these scenic appliqués!
ReplyDeleteawww - thank you Jillayne! I have so much fun creating these.
DeleteAnother fantastic finish, you know I really love those flowers!
ReplyDeleteI simply have to add flowers, otherwise I don't think it looks complete.
DeleteThe sky is still my fav part of your newest piece.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you like that part of it because Resident Chef sure had his doubts and I was beginning to question my own idea.
DeleteWell done! I really love the sky and the flowers in the corner. Actually, I love the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki! The sky was an iffy thing to try, but now I'm glad I did.
DeleteCongratulations on your finish Mary Anne! It is gorgeous! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine! Now it's on to another one...
DeleteAnother little slice of quilting heaven. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I rather like this one too.
