Lots of hand stitching

Took me the better part of three afternoons to piece all the hexies together for the landscape.  I am nothing if not anal about these things!

- Perhaps you might like to try playing with THIS technique.

- Clicking on each of the categories HERE will take you to more beautiful examples of the work.

- For a little change of pace, have a peek through the gallery HERE

- Some of you might like to try making one of THESE.

Today's quote..."If you want to hear the sound of birds don't buy a cage.  Plant a tree"

    1. I was happy to realize I had enough greens already made so it was a simple (albeit time-consuming!) matter to put them together.

  2. Firemen are fixing our washed out road and I'm so very grateful. So Thank You, all Firemen, you are my heroes.

  4. Greetings my Friend: The hexies are amazing in your landscape, beautiful, you are talented.
Yes thank-you firefighters, its a shame more people do not thank-them, we have a law enforcement officer/volunteer firefighter living next door.
Thank-you for the links especially the dyed fabric link.

    1. Yes, we need to publicly thank first responders far more than what we do. My cousin is a firefighter but luckily not involved in the forest fire situation.
      Glad you enjoyed the links!

    1. It's coming together and I must admit I was happy that I had enough hexies floating around to do what I wanted.

The Norton art is gorgeous. I'd like to try something like that.

Sherry of createology: Your hexies are perfect for the green grasses. So many wonderful links to eye candy. Plant a tree and the birds will come and sing their tunes. Thank you Firefighters and all First Responders.

    1. It was a poor photo but it was dull outside again today - hopefully it will look better in the next picture.

Go green hexies! Never mind how long it takes, because they were the highlight, to me, of your last piece.

  9. Looking very good. I am not good at hand sewing so am always amazed by those, like yourself, that do such lovely work.

    God bless.

Love your determination in doing things the way you want. It may take long, but I'm sure it gives you a great feeling of satisfaction. I'm adding that quote to my notebook right now - thanks!
