A little bit of progress, on more than one front

The embroidery on the landscape has begun and what you see here is pretty much 'done', although the jury is still out on part of it.  Will have to wait and see what the overall look is once it's all complete and then I'll decide.

Car repairs are happening after the big storm - new tail light has been installed and the new windshield will be going in on Monday.  Next Friday we have an appointment to get the hail damage assessed to see if they are able to fix it as is or if it will require more extensive bodywork and then that process will happen when the company can fit us in.

The first heirloom cherry tomato of the season!

- THIS is a nice quilt you might want to consider making.

- If you'd like to play with water colours, perhaps some of the ideas found HERE might be of interest.

- You might enjoy seeing THESE amazing quilts.

- And, if you're thinking about making a winter-themed quilt, perhaps one of THESE might be what you're looking for....and....if you check the sidebar there you'll find all sorts of themes you can click on to find more designs to suit pretty much any theme.  Best pour a cuppa a'fore you go though (maybe even consider leaving bread crumbs as you fall down the rabbit hole!).

  1. I'm glad the repairs to the car are under way. I imagine body shops and insurance adjusters are busy after all that local damage. It doesn't sound as if your building windows suffered, though.

The landscape is looking very very good! Is it commissioned, or a freelance one?

    1. Yes, the body shops are certainly inundated with repairs right now. Our building windows were fine because the storm came from the north and there are only a couple windows on that side.
As for the landscape - it's a 'just because I wanted to' piece and will be for sale once it's done.

    1. Thank you Julierose - it's got a ways to go before I'm done, but I'm having fun anyway.
Repairs are happening - tail light is done, windshield will be replaced on Monday, but don't know when the hail marks will be done.

Sherry of createology: MA Dear your embroidery is stunning. I know you have not finished your embellishing… Heirloom tomatoes are so unique and beautiful. They add such an elegance to a meal…especially my favorite caprese salad. Wonderful watercolors which are currrently enchanting me and challenging me. Glad your car is coming along. Those hail pock marks will be the true test of “fixed”. Happy Weekend to you and RC.

    1. Thank you Sherry! There's at least a couple more days coming for the embroidery before I can say it's done. The heirloom tomatoes are grown from seed we 'harvested' from some tomatoes our #2 son and DIL had several years ago.

  4. I am loving that landscape. It so reminds me of those abandoned old trucks and cars I see on farms here on the prairies.

I am also loving those quilt links, but I am afraid they are way beyond my capabilities.

    God bless.

    1. Good thing it reminds you of what you see on the prairies, because that's where this one is located. Means I must be doing something right...lol.
Quilts are beyond me too, but sure are nice to look at.

  6. Love the beautiful additions to the landscape Mary Anne and glad some of the car repairs are being sorted out. That same situation happened to us in Switzerland with a freak storm with golf ball size hailstones. I was in the UK at the time so thought my car was safely in the garage only to get home and find that DH had decided to drive my car to work that day instead of his!! Never did find out why! The hail damage took a long time to put right as so many people were in the same position but when it did happen they did a fabulous job. I think the body shops can suck the dents out with a machine and the paintwork isn't damaged. Good luck! Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Supposedly that's what they're hoping to do with our car so we won't have to have extensive bodywork done...it will depend on what they decide when we get it looked at. We're getting it assessed next Friday so we'll know more then. Too bad about your DH taking your car to work!

  8. Unfortunately cars around here that have hail damage all over them are totaled out by insurance companies simply because the repair price costs more than the car. So they refuse to repair and demand a title to be trashed. Such a waste because the cars run perfect.

    1. Oh my, I hope that's not what happens with ours! We simply can't afford to replace the car, even if there were any good used cars on the market right now.

  9. Oooh, that's coming along nicely.
Having a car fixed is such a pain, but hopefully it's driveable until then?

    1. Oh yes, the car is driveable, no worries there. As of now the tail light and the windshield have been replaced and we're just waiting to see what, if anything, the insurance will agree to do re the hail dents.
