This is the end of my virtual quilt show featuring just some of the quilts I liked at the show.
Made by Betty Ann Welsh
Made by Helen Tengesdal
Made by Morell Branton
And because, after all, I had to
spend at least a little money, these
came home with me...

The two brown-ish 'blobs' are Valdani pearl cotton.
I also bought a few small pieces of fabric and forgot
to take a picture.
to take a picture.
- HERE is an idea some of you might like to try.
- Have a peek through the gallery of THIS artist.
- And THIS one too (be sure to scroll down!)
- Although I know it's not winter in this part of the world, perhaps you'd like to get a head start on the season by making THESE.
Those quilts aren't easy to look at, so much detail that tricks my old eyes. Very nice
ReplyDeleteEnough. Such a beautiful word.
The mixed media artworks are very creative. I look at many of your links thinking, I don't create enough. :)
I simply can't imagine cutting all that fabric to make those quilts and then having to face sewing it all back together again. Not my idea of fun!
DeleteSherry of createology: My goodness the quilts and textile pieces you have shared in your links are fantastic! You have amazing self control my dear to not buy everything in sight. You know how much I love blues and copper…if only I were more creative and unique!!! Blessings Dear Mary Anne.
ReplyDeleteI thought my followers would enjoy seeing some of the creativity from our guild members. And yes, I did use my self control and didn't buy anything extra (unless you count the books of course...but in my defense I'm self taught and get most of my knowledge from books so I could justify them)
DeleteSo very much beauty in each of those quilts. As I have said before way above my ability.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Mine too! Lovely to look at though.
DeleteEnjoyed the beautiful quilts.
ReplyDeleteThe poem is very befitting in my world today.
Glad you enjoyed the virtual 'show'.
DeleteThose look like interesting books. And beautiful quilts! I look forward to catching up on what I've recently missed.
ReplyDeleteI'm always searching for books that I can use to learn more about making landscapes so I felt pretty lucky to find these.
DeleteLove Joan Colvin's books - I had this one but don't seem to now though I still have her first two. The designs are amazing but they're also a very good read too. She was brilliant with fabric...
ReplyDeleteHmmm - didn't know Joan Colvin had other books. Now I'm going to have to see if I can search them out.
DeleteThanks for sharing these beautiful quilts. Great finds too! And as always thanks for the links. I'm going to check them out now.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the 'show'. I could have purchased a whole lot more books (and more Valdani thread!) but I stuck to my plan and just looked for books that would help me develop my skills with landscapes.
DeleteBeautiful quilts. I particularly love the first one. Goodness, all that piecing! Fabulous books. There is always room for a few more books, especially pertaining to all things landscapes.
ReplyDeleteYes, all that piecing - not something I'd want to tackle that's for sure.
DeleteLove your favorites too!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad - there were lots more but I picked what particularly appealed to me.
DeleteThat anonymous(?) poem rang a bell for me. You might be surprised at the level of minutia I can give myself credit for at the end of a day if I feel the need to say "enough!"
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the original source for that poem but it resonated with me too.
