I think the four sample pieces are pretty much done with the exception of adding the labels...
Spring...
Summer..
Winter...
The same virtual scene, changed to suit the seasons, so that students can see what can be done with the same basic picture. Each measures 14 1/2" x 20 1/2".
- I must admit my jaw dropped when I saw THIS! Wow.
- Some of you might find THIS of interest.
- THIS little guy made me smile.
- Have a peek through the amazing creations of THIS artist.
Today the quote is from Rabindranath Tagore...."The one who plants trees, knowing that he or she will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life"
They look fabulous Mary Anne! Love the tulips! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI love the tulips too - they were a lovely surprise.
DeleteI enjoyed reading the passage on neurographic art, the term new to me but the technique not so much. I can see people who fancy trying their hand getting a lot out of this. Including fabric design. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was thinking that neurographic art would be interesting in a fabric application too. Even in terms of using it as a base for a fabric landscape. Must ponder that, but I expect that's as far as it will go.
DeleteSeparate comment, different subject -- your four seasons series is terrific. You seem to have whipped through them, too.
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty basic so not overly time-consuming in and of themselves. Doing four at once just seemed to take a lot of time.
DeleteThey look great, good work.
ReplyDeleteThe shawl link is amazing.
I'm glad they're done - I get bored doing too much of the same thing so now I'll be happy to tackle something else.
DeleteThe samples look great! Wonderful gift of tulips.
ReplyDeleteThe tulips are beautiful and make me smile every time I walk by them.
DeleteGlad the samples are done!
Those four panels are amazing. Your students will have lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteWill certainly be interesting to see if anyone signs up for a workshop - will have to wait and see.
DeleteGorgeous!! We went to 'the kid's' for supper.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! We haven't seen our Barrie 'kids' for over a year...still waiting to 'do Christmas'
DeleteYour seasonal landscapes are so wonderful!! I especially love "Winter" as a big blue fan...
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julierose P.S. Lovely tulips, too...
I like blue too, but not a fan of winter as a season.
DeleteThe tulips are beautiful - one of my favorites since childhood and my grandfather's parrot tulip garden. The seasons of the barn are fantastic. You've really shown the diversity of the original picture. Wowing that shawl also. That would be some project.
ReplyDeleteI think I love tulips because they mean spring is finally here. And yes that shawl would be a big project - can you imagine having to tie in all the ends?!!
DeleteYour samples look beautiful. How sweet of Son #2 and wife to gift you with gorgeous Tulips. To plant tree is such a simple way to pay it forward to generations yet to come.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the samples are done; now I can put that particular 'thing' out of my mind and go on to something a lot more fun.
DeleteThose are amazing!!! Your samples are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat shawl in a work of art. I can't imagine how difficult or how long it would take.
God bless.
Thank you Jackie. Hopefully the samples will show people a few of the possibilities.
DeleteWonderful tulips! We lived in The Netherlands for a few years and visited the Keukenhof (translation - KitchenGarden).
ReplyDeletehttps://keukenhof.nl/en/ - have a look at the beautiful gardens.
Loving tulips, it is a great place to see so many wonderful varieties of tulips and many other beautiful flowers.
MA, you have made a great job of your Four Seasons group of landscapes. I believe you will be over-subscribed with applications to join your demonstrations.
The neurographic art is a great idea, and I think I may have a try at that. Thank you again for some great links.

I've seen videos of the Keukenhof Gardens and they are spectacular. How I would love to see them in person!!
DeleteHope you do try the neurographic art because it looks like fun. I'm trying to think how I could translate the idea into fabric.
The 4 seasons is a great idea to show variety. Some elementary teacher would love those in their classroom.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of a teacher liking them but you could be right!
DeleteVery cool. And a lot of work. You will have a wonderful presentation, Mary Anne.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to wait and see if anybody actually wants to take the workshop!
DeleteBeautiful tulips, such pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteWow, all the seasons look fantastic! Although I'm partial to the fall with those fall colours.
I think fall is my favourite too. I'll be interested, if the workshop ends up being a 'go', to see which season will be the most popular.
