Spoiled...and....progress

Over the weekend I was a very spoiled Mom when these were delivered from our #2 son and daughter-in-love...

I love tulips!!
Thank you Shawn and Winnie....LOVE YOU!!
(For those who don't know, we celebrate Mother's Day
here on the second Sunday in May which is
different from some other parts of the world)

I think the four sample pieces are pretty much done with the exception of adding the labels...

Spring...

Summer..

Fall...

Winter...

The same virtual scene, changed to suit the seasons, so that students can see what can be done with the same basic picture.  Each measures 14 1/2" x 20 1/2".

- I must admit my jaw dropped when I saw THIS!  Wow.

- Some of you might find THIS of interest.

- THIS little guy made me smile.

- Have a peek through the amazing creations of THIS artist.

Today the quote is from Rabindranath Tagore...."The one who plants trees, knowing that he or she will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life"

  2. I enjoyed reading the passage on neurographic art, the term new to me but the technique not so much. I can see people who fancy trying their hand getting a lot out of this. Including fabric design. Thanks for the link.

    1. Yes, I was thinking that neurographic art would be interesting in a fabric application too. Even in terms of using it as a base for a fabric landscape. Must ponder that, but I expect that's as far as it will go.

  3. Separate comment, different subject -- your four seasons series is terrific. You seem to have whipped through them, too.

    1. They are pretty basic so not overly time-consuming in and of themselves. Doing four at once just seemed to take a lot of time.

  4. They look great, good work.
    The shawl link is amazing.

    1. I'm glad they're done - I get bored doing too much of the same thing so now I'll be happy to tackle something else.

  9. The tulips are beautiful - one of my favorites since childhood and my grandfather's parrot tulip garden. The seasons of the barn are fantastic. You've really shown the diversity of the original picture. Wowing that shawl also. That would be some project.

    1. I think I love tulips because they mean spring is finally here. And yes that shawl would be a big project - can you imagine having to tie in all the ends?!!

Your samples look beautiful. How sweet of Son #2 and wife to gift you with gorgeous Tulips. To plant tree is such a simple way to pay it forward to generations yet to come.

That shawl in a work of art. I can't imagine how difficult or how long it would take.

    God bless.

Wonderful tulips! We lived in The Netherlands for a few years and visited the Keukenhof (translation - KitchenGarden).
https://keukenhof.nl/en/ - have a look at the beautiful gardens.
Loving tulips, it is a great place to see so many wonderful varieties of tulips and many other beautiful flowers.
MA, you have made a great job of your Four Seasons group of landscapes. I believe you will be over-subscribed with applications to join your demonstrations.
The neurographic art is a great idea, and I think I may have a try at that. Thank you again for some great links.

    1. I've seen videos of the Keukenhof Gardens and they are spectacular. How I would love to see them in person!!
Hope you do try the neurographic art because it looks like fun. I'm trying to think how I could translate the idea into fabric.

    1. I think fall is my favourite too. I'll be interested, if the workshop ends up being a 'go', to see which season will be the most popular.
