...And....a little mystery is good for the soul, right? So...what do you suppose this will be??.....
- THIS is a great little sweater that might have to go on my to do list. Right now I'm knitting a sweater that uses multi-coloured yarn and if there's any leftover I might just have to make this one too!
- THIS would be quick to make and is so cute if you're into fridge magnets or know someone who is. (Hah - quick poll - are you a fridge magnet person or no?? I'm firmly in the no category)
- If you want a matching set, HERE's the coasters!
- THESE are ceramic - and such an amazingly talented artist!
Today's quote..."The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday"
Sherry of createology: Your finished landscape is wonderful. I do love old trucks! All the details you add make this so very special. I am definitely NO on refrigerator magnets. Very good quote. Awesome August Dear…
ReplyDeleteI have had a thing against fridge magnets since our boys were young and thought slamming the refrigerator door was fun but then never noticing the shower of magnets and their contents that would end up on the floor. That's when magnets became a no-no in our household. I got tired of picking them up!
DeletePeople tend to give fridge magnets, the way they give cat themed items to cat owners. Otherwise I'd have neither. Well done on the latest landscape. I wonder if a Saskatchewan reader will go for this one.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of a pristine white fridge so I don't seem to be given magnets. I guess people have decided I don't like them (and they'd be right!).
DeleteOh my!! Somewhere in Saskatchewan" is just gorgeous!! Where to start? I just love the undulating hills in the foreground--they are wonderful!! And your skyline with the wind turbins in the distance--amazing work. I think, so far, this is my favorite of all your 'scapes....;))) thanks so much for taking us along on your landscape journey hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteOh my, back at you! Thank you for the lovely accolades!
DeleteThat is a lovely piece and I also love its title. All inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jocelyn!
DeleteI will agree with julie rose. this landscape is one of your best. "I wish a Ford and a Chevy (truck) would last ten years like they should." Merle, of course! Yay for your old truck!
ReplyDeleteawww, thank you! I don't know which I enjoy making more - old vehicles or buildings.
DeleteWonderful, Mary Anne. It looks like a beautiful late summer day. I'm going to guess the round thing is either the beginning of a blanket, or a scrubby or washcloth of some sort.
ReplyDeleteLate summer with the canola field in the background, for sure. As to the guess...nope!
DeleteSherry of createology: All of your details on this lovely landscape really add dimension and texture. I love the old truck. The green in the second photo looks like Minky fabric. NO refrigerator magnets for me either. Great quote dear.
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for old trucks too. And no, the green thingie isn't minky.
DeleteThat landscape reminds me of an old truck that used to be sitting in my husband's family farm. Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Who knows, if your DH's family farm truck is in Saskatchewan it just might BE it. Wouldn't that be something?!
DeleteAnother beautiful finish! I love all your landscapes, MaryAnne!
ReplyDeleteawww, thank you Cathy!
DeleteIt is a Beauty!
ReplyDeleteWish I could see the original truck in person because it definitely is a beauty.
DeleteCongratulations on a new piece of art work finished. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have so much stuff in my house that several years back with no kids or grand kids offering master pieces for the fridge, I decided to keep a clear fridge of quick site. On the far unseen side are a couple of souvenirs from our Route 66 trip, a calendar, one holds couple menus and a fly swat.
It was the masterpieces the kids made that always would end up showered all over the floor and finally I got fed up with picking them up and said no more. All we have now is the health line number on a magnet and another one with what to do for heart attacks and strokes, and even those are tucked away on the side.
DeleteDare I say that my grandmother used to make hats like that green blob back in the 60's/70's. What a memory.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would want a hat made from heavy yarn like this! Wow - just the thought of how hot it would be....
DeleteOh yes, and bravo on the finished landscape - another stunner!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Can't wait to start another one but there's also that ever-lurking Christmas box that needs filling.
DeleteYour new landscape is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicki!
