Two more projects from my crochet hooks to add to the Christmas box...
Hat is THIS one and the cowl is from HERE. I used Caron Simply Soft for both.
- THIS is a really pretty and fairly easy afghan design.
- And some of THESE would be fun for your fall decor.
- THIS is a rather nice bag design that could serve many uses.
- There's a lot of free quilt designs HERE.
Today's quote is from Sir David Attenborough..."If working apart we're a force powerful enough to destabilize our planet, surely, working together, we are powerful enough to save it"
Funny about the Fall pumpkins. Every year I think about this then end up with a sugar pumpkin on the front step which later ends up in soup!
ReplyDeleteYour version is far more useful! Soup is much better than something you end up having to store when it's out of season.
DeleteI especially love that cowl pattern--I haven't done anything but Granny sqs in crocheting--but i may give this a try--thanks for the linky, too. Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Hope you do make it because it's really quite pretty.
DeleteI love that colour. The cowl is certainly very different.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The cowl looks nicer in the wearing. As for the colour I think the recipient will like it.
DeleteGood quote.
ReplyDeleteThe cowl is a winner! Perfect for using vintage bottons. The pumpkin pattern is nice as well. Thank you!
Hopefully the recipient is a person who will like a cowl - not sure what she likes because I don't see her very often and certain never in the winter.
DeleteDavid Attenborough's quote is spot on! Thank you for your visit to my blog and yes fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteDavid Attenborough is such a wise man and has done so much good for the environment. (and you're welcome for the visit...thanks back at you!)
DeleteBusy fingers! I only wish I was as productive as you. You're an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fast crocheter so I can make small projects like this relatively quickly. Knitting takes me a whole lot longer.
DeleteI like that hat pattern. Thanks for linking to it, Mary Anne!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I know you crochet so perhaps you'll make one.
DeleteYou are doing well with your Christmas items. Great patterns and how do you like the Caron Simply Soft? I've made the mistake of stitching scarves in what turns out to be too scratchy wool. Always looking for what would be soft against the neck.
ReplyDeleteCaron Simply Soft - I like it, particularly for things that will need to be washed by people who aren't apt to hand wash knitted items. It's soft but it does tend to split a little bit...not something that worries me unduly. If I were knitting a heirloom project I wouldn't use it, but it's fine for daily use.
DeleteSweet little cowl. I know these little projects must be fun because they are quicker and dont take much yarn. Joy's Jots
ReplyDeleteExactly! Fun to make and quick which is always a good thing.
