Lots of people thought I was making hats. Nope. It should come as no surprise that it would be something for the grandies though and so here you have it....
Pattern is called the 'Monster Pillow Buddy' and can be found HERE. Yarn is the Bernat Blanket Bright series and used a 9 mm crochet hook. Not exactly something I plan to make more of because it's quite hard on my hands but it was sure fun to do! Oh....and they each measure about 30" tall. A good addition to the Christmas box!
- I rather like THIS for fall decor.
- There are lots of links HERE for some cute crocheted Christmas designs - most are free.
- THIS takes you to a PDF of a really cute crazy quilted design for fall decor.
- And, how about checking into THIS lineup of Halloween/fall projects?
Today's quote..."A seed grows with no sound but a tree falls with a huge noise. Destruction has noise, but creation is quiet. This is the power of silence"
Well I'd never have guessed this! The kids will have a great time with these.
ReplyDeleteI certainly had fun making them, but have to admit my hands weren't so happy with them.
DeleteFantastic! Great project to customize for an adult, funny auntie, grumpy grandpa. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Halloween projects.
The quote, not so sure creation is silent. I heard a lot of noise in the delivery room back in the day. lol
You simply cannot feel grumpy when you're looking at these! I think I smiled the entire time I was making them.
DeleteHah - never thought of the delivery room!
Cute little "monster" pillows--I'll bet they'll be a big hit;))) hugs, julierose
ReplyDeleteThey do look little in the photo but they're just about thirty inches tall. Not sure where my head was at because now I'm going to have to pay to have them shipped (oops).
DeleteOh WoW! Those are terrific! Monsters were not on my radar at all. They're wonderful. The eyes really make them!

DeleteI had to resist making the purple one into a 'One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater' and perhaps if I could have figured out how to make wings I would have.
DeleteThose are very cute.
ReplyDeleteGood thing they're cute because it's going to cost a small fortune to mail them across the country. Good thing I love my grandies!
DeleteSherry of createology: Your monsters are super cute. You are going to need a very big box for mailing all your Christmas gifties. The sound of silence is very seldom heard.
ReplyDeleteYes, the search is already on for a very big box....or, more likely, two.
DeleteOh Mary Anne they are just delightful. Your grandchildren are going to have so much fun with them. They just make you smile looking at them! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThey're currently recling on the sofa in the living room (for lack of somewhere else to put them!) and they do indeed make me smile.
DeleteThey are awesome! I don't think I'd ever make them. They look like they would be really hard on the hands.
ReplyDeleteThey were hard on the hands to make, that's for sure. I think if I simply had used worsted weight rather than the super bulky they would have been easier but then they wouldn't have been pillow sized!
DeleteOh what fun! Who wouldn't love a collection of Monster Pillow Buddies. How perfect to line up for little ones play time!
ReplyDeleteHopefully our little guys will think these are lovable!
DeleteJoy's Jots here. Those are silly cute. I was thinking pot scrubbers.
ReplyDeletePot scrubbers - hmmm - at 16" across they're a tad large!
DeleteAdorable.
ReplyDeleteI think they're pretty cute and now just have to hope the grandkids feel the same.
