Stumbled across THIS recipe and decided we simply had to try it and RC has pronounced it good. I suspect a few jars will find their way into gifts over the holidays. We got ten 250 ml jars out of it.
- THESE would be a cute way to give a gift card or a small item.
- There are lots of great ideas HERE if you're looking to make special Christmas stocking for someone.
- Well, I guess I should 'fess up and admit that I'm regretting getting rid of some scrap flannel pieces I had because if I still had them I could make one of THESE. Oh well.
- THIS would make a quick gift for someone.
Today's quote..."Karma. When a bird is alive, it eats ants. When the bird is dead, ants eat the bird. Time and circumstances can change at any time. Don't devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today, but remember, time is more powerful than you. One tree makes a million match sticks but only one match is needed to burn a million trees. So be good and do good"
That jam sounds delish!! Nice work making all those...great quote and I would say very timely...;))) hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteWe were surprised that it actually does taste like apple pie.
DeleteThat's a good quotation, very apt for our times.
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteHello MA: I am baking a load this year but no canning, maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the interesting links.
Catherine
We're baking and canning. RC will be making a couple different 'nuts & bolts' recipes to include and there has to be butter tarts.
DeleteYou've been busy canning! It looks so yummy. Love the quote, so true. Thank you for the links, those gift card stockings are really cute.
ReplyDeleteI love canning but sadly we only have so much space to store it. Our storage space isn't cool enough so we have to rely on a small refrigerator.
DeleteWhat a great gift that jam will be. Sounds delicious. I have a pile of old flannel shirts and jeans that I've been meaning to make a quilt out of for years. Will I ever get to it?
ReplyDeleteThe jam IS good - glad we decided to try it. I've made quilts with jeans and it's fun but I don't think I'll be doing it now.
DeleteSherry of createology: Yum! Your recipe reads like a delicious outcome to enjoy! I know how you feel…every single time I give away something then I need it and am sad because I cannot buy the same quality or item I had. Karma…Ahhh!
ReplyDeleteThe jam definitely is good. Hopefully the recipients will enjoy it too.
DeleteGosh, that jam sounds delicious! I'm going to bookmark this recipe. And I'm sorry about the scrap flannel - a flannel quilt is my kind of luxury item! I've decluttered only two or three things that I genuinely regret, and it's strange that of the many, many things I've decluttered, it's always the regrets that come to mind. Note to self: stop that.
ReplyDeleteIt IS good! We don't eat a whole lot of jam ourselves and most of this will end up being gifted at Christmas.
DeleteGood note to self!
The jam sounds tasty! Is Benardin pectin a Canadian brand? You come up with such great links to more temptation....
ReplyDeleteI had to consult with Mr. Google and discovered that yes Bernardian is a Canadian company. No matter, we used Certo and it was okay.
DeleteThose jars of apple jam will make nice Christmas gifts! My MIL made flannel quilts for all her grandsons. I think they were probably teenagers at the time. I'm pretty sure I've seen them on the beds of my now grown sons when visiting them. Great cozy idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the jam will make good gifts. I probably got rid of enough flannel to have made most of one twin-sized quilt....too late smart on that one!
DeleteLots of great Christmas ideas.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them!
