Still sorting

I'm still bogged down in the genealogy files and can't see any light at the end of that particular tunnel, at least not for awhile.  Needless to say you don't want to see pictures of piles of paper!

- Some of you might find making one of THESE would be useful in your sewing room.

- THIS would be a nice project for your fall decor.

- Sometimes I come across something that makes me wonder why I didn't think of it myself and this is one example of that...

- I rather like THIS - would be fun to attempt.  She also has a tutorial to make THIS which is another fun little project.

Today this rather fitting quote is from George Orwell... "In our age there is no such thing as "keeping out of politics."  All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia"    Thoughts and prayers are with our neighbours to the south - as well as for our entire world.

  1. Sad day. Your blog is a little respite, thank you. That knotting idea is great. I can use that for my sock knitting. I often forget what needles I used before.

    1. I try not to get into politics too much on my blog because I hope people do find it as you did - a little respite. Wish I'd thought of that knotting idea!

    1. I wonder how many years ago Orwell said that.
Sorting continues - still bogged down in genealogy papers.

Sherry of createology: My Dear MA thank you for this quote today and for your thoughts and prayers. I do not share my politics however I did not feel good about either choice this election. I pray God will take care of us! I really adore the little gazebo ornament. Not for mailing though. Blessings My Friend…

    1. Yes, there have been a lot of prayers and I know there will continue to be.
The little ornament is cute, isn't it, but you're right that it's not for mailing.

  4. I think that our neighbours to the south need more than thoughts and prayers.

    1. Having an Ancestry membership makes genealogy so much easier, but first I have to get all my paper 'stuff' scanned and uploaded.

  6. Even though the knot idea is not your idea, you found it and shared it. Thank you for that.

    1. I thought that idea was rather clever and even better that it doesn't require buying anything.

  7. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers for the US. The world over is seeing a move to the political right, simply because (in my humble opinion) the natural world-wide inflation - a predictable backlash from the months/years of pandemic-suppressed economies - has made people want to boot out current office-holders. And the inflation was exacerbated by companies practicing price gouging at the expense of consumers. Tax cuts to million/billionaires is going to stiff the rest of us “little people” even more. But hey, let’s elect a felon, liar and cheater. 🤦🏼‍♀️

    1. Sadly it's appearing as though Canada will be going the same way in the next election with the Conservatives quite likely poised to win and under a leader that holds a surprising number of same views as the orange man in your country. I think we're in for a rough ride.

  8. My husband kept saying "don't be surprised" so I wasn't, but I am terribly disappointed with the outcome and wonder how this will affect my future as well as that of my children and grandchildren. There's a lot of sadness all around these days.

    1. The sadness and worry isn't only for the people in the US, it's here too, because we're so closely linked geographically. I think we're in for a pretty rough time in the near future.

  9. Oh my goodness! The knot idea is genius - especially for long term projects that get put away - sometimes for months and years.
