....and....now it's on to pillowcases.....

Fabric is all cut out and I'm ready to start sewing.    Sewing is done!  I used the burrito method which is really fast and easy. Had to do some intriguing piecing to get enough co-ordinating pieces to go along with the main fabrics but the grandies won't care if there's a few extra seams.

- I thought THIS was a really cute gift idea.

- THIS is really pretty and wouldn't be difficult to make.

- and THIS too!

- I love THIS and am seriously tempted...but....would I wear it?

- THIS is a great idea for a gift (or more than one!)

Today's quote.."God gave you a fingerprint that no one else has, so you can leave an imprint that no one else can"

  1. You're really churning it out! They're going to be so happy unpacking all these presents.

    1. As of this moment, beyond embroidering their names onto the pillowcase (playing with the stitches on my Janome), I can say I'm done with the sewing and knitting for Christmas. Now it will be on to sorting who gets what and the wrapping.

  2. Great looking pillow cases--nice work matching....
On the crocheted sweater--??? I know I wouldn't wear it...but it is really pretty, I must say...
We are in the "cleaning mode" right about now and i am resting my back after dusting 1/2 the house...

    1. I don't think I'd wear that sweater either but I do love it (probably it might be the colours more than the design that I like).

  3. I haven't made pillowcases in a long time. They are fun to make but once I get started I want to make dozens!

    1. I could happily make more too, but I only need four. I used to knit sweaters for the grandies but my hands are objecting to all that knitting so I've switched to jammies and pillowcases in themes they like. Sadly I couldn't get Spiderman flannel for one grandie's PJ's so had to buy them readymade.

    1. The pillowcases are really fast to make - takes longer to cut the fabric pieces than it does to sew them together. The burrito method is amazing!

    1. They're easy to make if you remember to keep the 'long side' of the fabric facing the correct way. I like how fast they are - generally takes more time to cut the fabric than it does to sew them up.

  7. I love the quote and I love the idea of the pillow cases. My grandsons would love those. Maybe something for the future. Reminds me of when I was in my 30's and trying to come up with a Christmas present for my grandmother and started to make her holiday/seasonal placemats but never finished them for her.
