Still sewing

Yesterday I finished working on this little dress for our wee grandie....

Pattern is the Infinite A-line Dress Pattern from Bonnie and Blithe.  I'm currently working on a matching diaper cover and will be making another little hat too.

- Joy is starting a fun new block-of-the-month that combines piecing as well as sweet flower embroideries.  Go HERE to find out more.

- You might want to experiment with THIS.

- Making one (or more!) of THESE would be fun and would make great gifts.

- THIS is a different method for casting off your knitting.

Today the quote is from Walt Disney..."Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional"

I'm telling you, making little girl dresses can be habit forming. Takes little fabric and made quickly. I never could come up with little boy patterns that were as much fun. Love your fabric and pattern choices.

    1. I am SO not a clothing sewer so it takes me forever to make a dress. However, I plan to carry on and make them for as long as she's willing to wear them. One day she won't want to wear anything homemade so I know I'd better make them now.

  2. The casting off link required personal information to get in, so I'll pass. That's a lucky granddaughter, all these great outfits arriving for her!

    1. That's interesting. I just checked and the link takes me to a little video on Pinterest. Maybe you aren't signed on for Pinterest, which might explain it, otherwise I don't know why you can't see it. Sadly I can't get it to go beyond Pinterest so I can post an alternate link.

    1. Our daughter-in-love says this is her favourite style for a little girls dress so I imagine I'll be making several more as time goes on. Luckily the pattern goes all the way up to size 8.

  4. Cute dress. It won't be long before you're making big girl sundresses.
The Mug holder tote is a great gift idea. The casting off looks like an easier way.

    1. She's already wearing a size 3 and definitely is growing too fast. I don't have enough confidence in sewing clothing to attempt a sundress for myself, so I'll stick to little girl projects.
You could see the casting off link, wonder why Boud couldn't...hmmm...

Sherry of createology: Another adorable dress for Princess Grand. I fell down the rabbit hole with your link of making alcohol ink. I have seen such beautiful handcrafted pieces created with this medium. However I am still pursuing my watercolors. I have so much to learn and even more practicing to do. I so relate to today’s quote. I shall forever be childlike!!! Happy Easter Dear…

    1. I was thinking of Donna's Easter egg project when I saw the link for the alcohol inks. Don't know how well they would work though.
