The world was struck by my mumblings here on this blog starting today in 2006. Who knew that I would manage to come up with something to mumble about for all that time. This blog originally began as a way to keep our sons up-to-date on what I was making and nobody was more surprised than I was when I started getting readers outside the family (family is honour-bound to have to read) and an even bigger surprise came when people started to comment. Now it seems I have 270 followers, some of whom comment regularly. Had you asked me, back in 2006, if I would even still be blogging in 2023 I would have said there was no way. Well, I'm still here and still finding 'stuff' to regale you with, for better or worse. Even better, so are you - and for that I am beyond thankful.
- Some of you who enjoy weaving might get an idea from THIS video.
- THIS would be a fun project to use up some scraps.
- THIS made me smile.
- Making THIS would be a nice addition to your sewing space - or a nice gift.
Today the quote is from Queen Elizabeth II.."We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love...and then we return home"
Oh my gosh Mary Ann: Congratulation on 18 years, you are pleasure follow and read. You have always had a way of making us smile with your beautiful quilts and links you share.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation again and here is to another 18 years plus.

Thank you Catherine. I know it came as a surprise to me when I realized it's 18 years. At the beginning I really tried to post every day but that has now settled into sort-of a three times a week schedule.
DeleteCongratulations on a long running successful blog! Blogs morph as they go
ReplyDeleteYes, I know mine has certainly undergone a number of morphs over the years. Thanks!
DeleteWow, you've been delighting the world with your 'mumblings' since 2006 !! Congratulations to you, lovely Mary Anne! It's always a delight to fly up to your little corner of the world to see what you are up to as there is always a fabulous link to investigate, and of course, a fabulous landscape in progress.
ReplyDeleteYes, who knew I would ever last at blogging this long! Certainly I didn't.
DeleteHappy Blogging!
ReplyDeleteThank you! For the most part it's been a lot of fun.
DeleteEighteen years is quite an accomplishment! I started blogging in 2008 and have stuck with it as well though for a couple of years my posts were pretty infrequent. I still enjoy it, and like you, still seem to find something to say. Glad you're still here!
ReplyDeleteYou're not far behind me then. When so many bloggers quit the platform in favour of Instagram, I wasn't one of them. I enjoy blogging and can't see making a switch to anything else.
DeleteMary Anne, you are an inspiration to us all, and like many others, I so look forward to seeing the new mumblings and links. I have been following for many years too, I think initially with your denim jackets - that was the inspiration to me, plus the many, many other links along the way. Where does the time go? Thank you, MA, and long may it continue.
ReplyDeleteVal (UK)
Long may it continue indeed - and our friendship too. I never thought I'd still be blogging after all this time and at this point I have no thoughts of giving it up.
DeleteGlad that I found you. Congrats on a well loved blog. Now I want to go backwards and read your blog from the beginning. The table runner has caught my eye and looks easy enough that I can add it to my list of projects, maybe in a red, white and blue for the summer. Keep blogging and we will keep coming to read and enjoy your mumblings. Thank you for taking the time to wow us with links. The only Pinterest viewing I do is through your blog.

I'm glad you found me too and thanks for joining me in the journey! Goodness, I wouldn't read my blog from the beginning (believe me, I'm in the midst of doing that and it's a slog) - far better you choose categories that interest you from the sidebar and have a peek that way. I've gotten as far as 2014 (working from the beginning) with cleaning up the links, many of which are no longer valid.
DeleteCongratulations! I'm also glad I found you. Always lovely hand stitching and wonderful links too here. And here's to many more years of mumblings!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we found each other Jocelyn!
DeleteCongratulations on your blogaversary! I believe part of your success is you so kind heartedly check out our blogs and leave precious comments. I know I highly appreciate them. I do love the rabbit holes you keep sending me down.
ReplyDeleteI think that's one of the nice things about blogging - the give and take between us. Glad you enjoy the rabbit holes!
DeleteI’ve read and enjoyed your blog for several years now but as you can see, it’s hard for me to comment. Thank you for all you do
ReplyDeleteSo glad you commented - thank you! Glad you enjoy my mumblings.
DeleteSherry of createology: Mary Anne Dear Congratulations on your Blogaversary. I am so happy I discovered you and your words of wisdom, amazing tips and techniques of sewing and embroidery and your wonderful links you share. Although I have never met you in person, I feel we are sisters of the heart who share common interests. Thank you for still blogging my friend. XO
ReplyDeleteAwwww - so nice of you to say Sherry! Thank you.
DeleteHappy Blogiversary! I also started in 2006 and I still enjoy it a lot!
ReplyDeleteI would miss it tremendously, for sure. I'm currently trying to go through and update a lot of my posts because many of the links have expired...interesting to read what was in my craw at some points in time.
Delete2006! congrats :) I've been following for about as long as I've had a blog, but you were already 7 years along by that time.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that you're still following my mumblings for all that time. Methinks you deserve a medal!
DeleteA little late, but congratulations on your blogaversary, Mary Anne! I started blogging in 2007 - just a year after you did.
ReplyDeleteI still enjoy it (probably even more than I did when I first started) so don't see myself giving it up anytime soon.
DeleteBelieve it or not I had marked my calendar to wish you a happy Blogoversary but I think the meds I'm on are really doing a number on me so here I am today wishing you a belated congratulations and a thank you for all the great content that you continue to share. I know that it's a labor of love. (Oh, and years ago my parents bought one of those looms while they were on vacation for my son who was in grade school at the time and was showing an interest in weaving, the only thing was that it didn't come with any directions and we never figured out how to use it - way before the internet!)
ReplyDeleteawww - thank you! Hope you're soon off the meds and back to your normal self.
