Just a little switch of gears...

Spring is coming so I decided our little grandie needed a new outfit (actually, there will be two) and this is the result...

Pattern is Simplicity 1453

- Some of you might find THIS article about junk journaling to be of interest.

- THIS is really cute!

- Have a peek at the creations of THIS artist.

- THIS would be fun to make for Easter.

Today the quote is from Albert Einstein..."Everybody is a genius.  But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid"

  1. I've always wondered about journaling. I know people who do it faithfully, even look back at their own lives in their journals. Bit of a mystery to me.

    1. I suppose, technically, our blogs are a form of journaling. I have kept a daily diary since 1967 but wouldn't consider adding artistic elements to it.

Your little dress is adorable. Love the Einstein quote. I always said our test results never showed how well a person could survive.

Sherry of createology: This little outfit is adorable! You have been sewing the cutest outfits for your little Princess Grand. Great links today. I have a deep affinity for Einstein. I even call my husband Einstein because he is beyond intelligent and worldly. Therefore this quote is brilliant. I hope you are having some beautiful Spring weather to enjoy!

    1. Our wee one absolutely needs to have some new outfits for spring and summer - at least that's my humble opinion and I'm sticking to it.

  4. Oh, that is such a cute dress and shorts set. And a hat too! Your granddaughter will be styling this summer.

So... curious, I checked out the Journal link. I love to peruse Junk Journals online, and wish I had the inner inspiration to truly do this (and complete one). I keep thinking I may one day. But what I really want to say is blogs such as yours, mine, Boud's, and many others I enjoy visiting are definitely journals of a sort. They are a record of our lives, creations, thoughts... the fact that we can interact with our readers is just a wonderful icing on the cake. Also, I sometimes enjoy going back and reading posts from year's past on my own blog. It's interesting to see my writing style change, and sometimes even my thoughts.

    1. There was enough fabric (with some careful cutting) to allow me to do the hat. The original pattern had the little shorts included.
And yes, I consider my blog to be a journal too, at least a journal covering my creative pursuits anyway.

    1. Takes me hours to make a little outfit because I'm not good at making clothing. Guess it's a case of learning as I go (and lots of use of a frog-it tool!).
