OOPS!

Just realized I referenced a photo of the quilting on one of the advents in my last post and then forgot to add it.  Ooops!  So....here is one calendar as they stand now, both are quilted and awaiting their binding.  Next step will be to finish the ornaments and then decide where to have them hang on the tree and then stitch on 48 buttons to hold them all.  There's a ways to go on the project(s) yet.  And then I have to make another one!!

It's a very poor photo and I do apologize but this morning I don't have time to get anything better.  You can get the general idea of what the advents are going to look like though.

Today's quote is from Mark Twain..."Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured"

  1. The Advent Calendar Tree looks really sweet. It’s going to be so much fun for the grands! Congrats to you for sticking with it through the months (and color bleeds!)

    1. It's trees - plural! Two boy-ish ones and now I have to start a girl-ish one. Each the same, but different.

    1. The ornaments aren't done - still putting the border on those. And then I have to figure out placement and then add the buttons to hold them. Oh, and there's binding to do....and a pocket for the back to hold the ornaments. Long way to go yet!

  3. Oh wow, how fabulous your Christmas Tree quilt is looking. Soooo much work! There will be two ecstatic little boys at Christmas time when they see what their grandmother has lovingly fashioned for them. Just think, each boy has his very own Advent quilt! So, so fun!

    1. YEs, there's been a lot of time spent on these two advent quilts - and now I have to make another one to go along with them. Fortunately there's no rush for it.

  4. All those cute little stitches are going to be wonderful on your quilted tree! Just read your response to Salty Pumpkin above. Wow! A lot of work to do still. Can't wait to see it finished.

    1. Of course I'm compounding the work by making two. Can't have our littles fighting over them!

    1. They're a tad larger than I had hoped, but hopefully there will be some wall space in their bedrooms that can hold them when the time comes.
