Over the weekend I did some work on the latest landscape and I am happy with it. The eagle-eyed among you will notice the used teabags forming the sky. The even more eagle-eyed might notice that your writer mucked about with some lace, paint and a brayer to create the grass background. And...if you embiggen the picture you might be able to catch the texture on the tree. Oh...and have a look at the grasses (remember me showing you that in one of my previous posts?). Oh yes - and there's the area below the grasses which is dyed and stitched cheesecloth. Now I'm busy embroidering more grasses.
- THIS takes you to a PDF for a really cute EPP'd basket.
- Have a look at the incredible works by THIS amazing artist!
-I try not to point you to too many 'pay' sites, but THIS one is amazing so I couldn't resist.
Today the quote is from George Orwell..."However much you deny the truth, the truth goes on existing"
Just beautiful work on your landscape!! I love how the grasses came out and so creative for the sky portion, too;)))
ReplyDeleteLovely work of art;;;hugs, Julierose
Thank you Julierose! I'm working on the hand embroidery now and trying to add more grasses to the overall piece.
DeleteWhat an inventive piece! Many great ideas there. It's going to be the best yet.
ReplyDeleteWell, I dunno about the best - but I'm sure having fun playing!
Deletefabulous ! The grasses are simply amazing like the texture artist's work. Similar too. Oh the miniature spring things, and I'm a gonna make that EPP bowl, thank you for the pretty tutorial. teabags! LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteThanks LeeAnna - this piece has utilized a number of experimental things I've been wanting to try out so we'll see how it ends up.
DeleteActual factual teabags? What a neat idea!
ReplyDeleteYes, actual used teabags. The RC was quite befuddled over the fact that I wanted to save teabags and whatever I would want to do with them.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: My goodness Miss Mary Anne! You never cease to amaze me with your creative ways of embellishing your landscapes. Each detail you create is interesting and draws the viewer into the landscape. I truly am in awe! Lovely links. Another excellent quote from George Orwell.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say - I like a challenge!
DeleteI can imagine the RC being quite confused over the saving of used teabags, but man do they make an interesting aspect in your landscape.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Yes, he quite often shakes his head over my hair-brained ideas for creativity but I like to think it keeps him interested to see just what I'll do next.
Deletethose grasses look so real that they made my legs itch!!! way cool!
ReplyDeleteOh dear - itchy legs, not good!!!
DeleteWhat a great use of all those materials! You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteCreative - or easily bored (or amused)?
DeleteAwesome work, MaryAnne! I love the grasses and the tree. And the old car, of course. I’ll echo the sentiment: you are so creative! xo
ReplyDeleteThis one has been really fun to work on. Totally different from my usual and I'm enjoying the challenge. Thanks!
DeleteHow you get the exact shading on the truck amazes me.
ReplyDeleteLots of play with coloured pencils and markers!
DeleteMA: this is a beautiful design, love the soft colors you are using. Thank-you for the links.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
I'm trying for sepia tones, more or less.
DeleteWell, that's something I never would have thought of! It looks great and you'd never know it was teabags.
ReplyDeleteThe RC was quite surprised when he saw it as I worked further. He, too, couldn't believe teabags could work.
DeleteYour landscape looks terrific, Mary Anne. I LOVE the teabag sky, and your snips and bits of various materials makes for some amazing grass. You are sooooo clever! And creative. And capable! You set your mind and hand to it, and you create wonderful things out of the most unexpected materials.
ReplyDeleteHah - some would say I was just plain stubborn! Thank you Becki...this one has certainly been fun to work on. Monday's post should be the grand reveal of the finished project.
