I knew it would happen. It was only a matter of time. This is a very short post because I REALLY have nothing to show for several days of spinning my wheels. I can show you a treasure I found in my stash though...
I have NO earthly clue who gave this to me nor how long I've had it. It's going to feature in the next landscape - somehow. It will join in with these additional 'bits' I unearthed, some of which I rust dyed many moons ago....
- I thought THESE would be pretty for spring.
- HERE is a fun idea for your garden.
Today's quote is from William Faulkner..."Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed"
Love that rust-dyed material you are amassing;))) What fun to have these on hand to use these in a future landscape...
ReplyDeleteHugs, for a super weekend Julierose
Some of it's going in the next landscape - I think! I have an idea but whether it will bear fruition is a whole 'nother story.
DeleteGood old Faulkner great writer. I wonder if you're thinking of incorporating words into your landscape? I like that idea.
ReplyDeleteYes, that scrap of fabric is definitely planned for the next landscape. I hadn't thought of using words in that way but when I found that little bit of fabric it became something I really need/want to do.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Your treasured findings from your own stash will be so perfect for another one of your amazing landscapes. I like your links. Great quote…if only “We the People” could be heard by the powers that be.
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly a surprise when I discovered that quote written on the fabric. Wish I knew where I got it!
DeleteI think that's a great idea...to incorporate words into a piece. I always thought I'd do a Jane Austin quilt like that someday. Anyway, those rusty shades are so pretty and interesting. As always thanks for the links as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope it turns out to be a good idea! My sewing machine isn't overly happy with stitching into rusted fabric so it has me wondering how well it will hand stitch.
DeleteYou have picked some great things to work with. Thanks for the links.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you - not sure how it's going to come together yet.
DeleteSearch the stash and in that back corner there's a gem!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! Good thing I air it out once in awhile.
Deletewell ... the words are powerful - and totally explain WHY there is not peace in the World
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a fitting quote for these times.
DeleteI love seeing all the Canadian-themes project ideas. My taste always runs to the ones that look like actual sugar maple leaves, rather than the stylized or abstract versions, but that's just me - it's good to have something for everyone :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in prefering realistic leaves but they're hard to sew.
