Hive of industriousness-sssss

Over the weekend both Resident Chef and I were busy creating and baking.  He, of course, absolutely NEEDED to test out his new Kitchenaid and this loaf of bread was the result...

My efforts yielded two different jar gifts that are all ready for gifting...

Hot Cocoa Mix (recipe can be found HERE - but we found that using half the amount of powder per cup of liquid was ample)

Bean Soup Mix - (recipe can be found HERE).  I changed it somewhat by leaving out the kidney beans and replacing them with lentils.

- While you're exploring the links above, check out some of the other ideas they have HERE

- I knew some of THESE uses for vinegar but there were a couple I hadn't heard of.

- I was looking for ideas for filling a clear ball Christmas ornament and came across THESE and thought some of you might find them interesting.

- THESE are really sweet for either hanging on your tree or using as package decor.

Today the quote is paraphrased from Louise Hay...."Choose to make the rest of your life the best of your life"

  2. Love the bird ornament.
Have you tried black beans instead of kidney beans? I changed a few years ago, )no more bean digestion issues).
Vinegar rinse on my hair wasn't fun, but my hair was pleased.

    1. I didn't use kidney beans in these - replaced them with lentils and black beans. Dry mustard goes in the spice packet so that helps with any 'PU' issues (I hope).
When our boys were small I always rinsed their hair with vinegar and they never brought home head lice despite most of their friends getting them. Was it the vinegar?

Sherry of createology: That Bread looks so good! What a fun time you have had filling gift jars with goodies to eat and drink. I bet Resident Chef loves his Kitchenaid Mixer! I use a lot of Vinegar but have not tried it on my hair! I missed telling you how much I love your button and pearls tree. It looks quite chic. Great quote. Blessings dear…

    1. The bread IS good - sourdough/cheese. And yes, I think the R C is quite liking his Kitchenaid if all the comments I've been getting are any indication.

    1. Jarred gifts are relatively easy to do depending on what you decide to include in them.

  9. I love your pretty jars! Food gifts are my favorite gifts, to give or to receive. And a few years ago when one of my blog pals surprised my herd (and me!) with about 3-months-worth of carrots, I was tickled to bits :)

    1. 3 months worth of carrots - only someone with goats would love that and I completely understand that it was a perfect gift that required a whole lot more thought than something from a store.
