Last night I turned my attention to soap making and these are the result. I now have to figure out how I'm going to package them for gifting. Before you get too excited and think that I'm a soap maker I'm really not - these are the melt and pour type and SO easy!! Measuring scary things like lye isn't on my radar and I far prefer all that technical stuff be done for me leaving me to play with colour and scent instead.
- THIS would make a great gift!
- If you use those Wonder Clips in your sewing endeavours perhaps making one of THESE might prove useful. Barring that, how about making one and adding Wonder Clips for gifting. While you're at it, how about adding one of THESE to the gift?
- If you feel the urge to be a Santa's Helper this year and help him fill stockings, perhaps one of the ideas found HERE might be great.
- Another of those involuntary awww moments HERE. And there's another one HERE.
- The embroiderers among you might like to check into THIS for next year.
Today your quote is from Hans Christian Andersen..."The whole world is a series of miracles, but we're so used to them we call them ordinary things"
I'm now the proud owner of some exquisite cross stitch from you! Christmas is now officially under way chez Boud. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWow!! The post office delivererrrrrr must have galloped from here to there! That was FAST! And you're most welcome!
DeleteYour soaps look so festive--nice work hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThank you - hopefully they'll be well received.
DeleteThe soaps are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe first awww is a winner! They would make nice heirloom ornaments. A whole tree of penguin and owl ornaments is a fun image. You find the neatest things to link to.
Dull rainy day here so pictures didn't do them justice...they're much prettier in 'real' life.
DeleteGlad you enjoy the links!
Melt and pour soaps are the only way to go as far as I am concerned. I have spent some time looking online for some kits to give as gifts next year.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I certainly don't feel comfortable trying to deal with lye and all the other 'stuff' that goes into regular soap. I'm sure it's not too difficult but I'd rather make it as easy as possible.
DeleteThe soaps look fabulous Mary Anne.... what a lovely gift they will make. I loved the little owl ornament and the penguins, so cute. I also liked the snap bag and it just so happens that I have the remains of a metal tape measure that my husband donated (not sure he knew he was donating it!) to another project that required a snap closure. Hugs Christine xxx
ReplyDeleteI've never tried making a snap bag but if I ever luck out and get any tape measure 'remains' I plan to. Can't bring myself to cut up a good one.
DeleteIt's been fun this year looking through all the Christmas ideas you have shared.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enJOYing them!
DeleteGreetings: I have made homemade soaps, have found that they are the best received gifts, yours look wonderfu.
ReplyDeleteWe used lye and you have to be so careful and wear a mask to make sure you do not inhale the lye dust.
Catherine
I'm afraid of the lye aspect so melt and pour work best for me. I know I'm always happy when I get a pretty soap as a gift so I'm hoping the recipients of these will be too.
DeleteCute and sweet soaps! Those would be so fun to wash with. :)
ReplyDeleteThe molds I used are actually supposed to be for baking muffins but I think they make much nicer soaps.
DeleteYour soaps look beautiful, even better that they were easy to make! I hope you found the perfect packaging.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's almost laughable how easy melt and pour soap is to make and it's fun to come up with different scent combinations. For the packaging, see my post from today (Dec 7th)
