This sweater has been sitting in the unfinished pile for too long and all it needed was buttons. Finally found enough in my stash to complete it. Another item for the Christmas box! No pattern notes to speak of other than it was stash yarn and a generic sweater pattern.
- Some of you might like to get lost at THIS site. I was searching for slow cooker recipes and this popped up but if you check her labels at the top there are tons of other things to explore.
- THIS little fellow caused another awwwww moment.
- I've seen snowflake as well as heart ornaments for Christmas but haven't seen any that combine the two as THIS one does.
- THIS is a great way to use some of those buttons we all seem to collect.
- I thought THIS might be of interest to some of you.
Today's quote..."My superpower is holding onto stuff for years and throwing it away exactly one week before I need it"
The skeleton leaves idea is interesting. Here I can just collect them because we have some insect that eats the soft parts, leaving the skeleton. One person's gardening worry is another person's art material.
ReplyDeleteSherry of createology: Oh MA it feels so good to complete a WIP. This little sweater is very preppy. You have the most diverse and interesting links. Who would ever think to make skeleton leaves? The liittle Snowman is adorable. My Superpower does the same thing to me!!! Blessings Dear…
ReplyDeleteThe sweater was another case of using up stash yarn (at least for the most part). Unfortunately I've been left with some yet so hats and mittens are underway.
DeleteLove that button bag--so cute!! Great for those overly huge older ones that you just sift through...
ReplyDeleteReally nice sweater finish!!:))) hugs, Julierose (back from the land of the "root canal"" Ugh)
Making a button bag (although not quite like that one) is on my list. My button collection needs to be diminished!!!
DeleteSo sorry about the root canal!
Well done sweater. I can see it becoming a favorite in chilly weather.
ReplyDeleteThe button bag makes me want to sew one right away. I left a cimment there. I'm nit sure if I should post that I found her blig via yours without asking first. I don't know how that works. Google analytics niw shows you blogs that visit.
The little awww snowkid is adorable.
Hopefully the sweater will fit....it's always difficult when I don't see the grandies regularly to know what size is best.
DeleteI don't think it would have been an issue if you mentioned you found the button bag via my post. I've never had anyone complain but I suppose there's always a first time!
Beautiful sweater. I like today's quote :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like a sweater like that for myself (only maybe not those colours) but I know it would be a life's work to get it finished.
DeleteNice sweater and a great way to use up the stash. Love the little snowman, just wish I knew how to crochet.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I'm all about using up the stash but unfortunately it never seems as though I'm making a whole lot of headway.
DeleteLove this latest finish Mary Anne and don't you just love that quote. Feels so familar!! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI hope our little grandie likes the new sweater - you just never know with kids!
DeleteThe quote hits a little close to home because I'm embarking on a clear out of some 'stuff' from my sewing space.
Your quote made me realize I have a superpower! Thanks!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think we all have that superpower!
DeleteLovely sweater. In the links on buttons: I think that purse would be heavy with all of them stitched on.
ReplyDeleteThank you. You're right, that purse would likely be heavy, at least for daily use.
DeleteThe Prudent Penny Pencher is truly a deep rabbit hole! Thank-you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I've already fallen down that rabbit hole and barely got out alive and I suspect I'll do the same over and over again.
DeleteAnother lovely finish. Will you be making the snowman? He's a cutie!
ReplyDeleteThe snowman might be going on my list for next year. I've made a toy for each of the grandies for this year so they're good for now.
