I just finished knitting another little hat and mitten set for the Christmas box...
- I think THIS would be a great way to use up yarn 'bits' from your stash.
- HERE's something that would make great Christmas gifts. And THIS one is a different take on it.
- If you have need to make a number of little ornies for any occasion over the upcoming season, perhaps THESE might catch your eye.
- I really like THIS pretty afghan design.
- If you're giving filled mason jars at Christmas, perhaps making pretty covers like THESE would add a touch of elegance to your gifts.
- And, finally, HERE is one of those projects that made me say 'awwww'.
Today's quote (of course it doesn't in the least bit apply to moi)...."No, my sewing room isn't messy. I just have everything on display. Like a museum"
Very conscientous chef checking out the equipment runs properly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the mitten link. Simplest mittens caught my eye.
Oh yes, conscientous - yep....(hah, I know he just wants to play with it!!)
DeleteThose mittens are simple to knit and the pattern is multi-sized too.
You have a lot of wonderful treasures in that Christmas box. I love the color of your new mixer. I love using mine for making marshmallows and our pierogi dough.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Christmas box is getting full!
DeleteHe chose the blue mixer because he knows it's my favourite colour - works for me!
Yiu know what I can't understand? Kitchen cabinets with glass doors. I don't want to look at all the things I've stuffed in there! My craft items are mainly in drawers and cabinets with wood doors, same reason!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that - same goes for open shelving in the kitchen (yewwww-collectors if you ask me). AND....while we're on the subject...I detest kitchen cupboards that don't go all the way to the ceiling, leaving an open space up top that's nothing but a further collector of yeeeewwww.
DeleteMA, your comment within your quote means you haven't seen my sewing room - I bet yours is tidy compared to mine. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you again for all your links - much appreciated.
Val (UK)
Hah? Tidy? Me???? Once in a blue moon maybe, but certainly not as we're entering into the Christmas season!
DeleteAh, righto on seeing if it's in working condition--you should (in payment) expect some fab-u-lous meals, right??? Great gift for your husband/chef...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I'm expecting lots of really good sourdough bread and he bought the ingredients to make a pumpernikel (sp?) today....so I'm waiting for that!!
DeleteI love my Kitchen Aid, I even got an extra bowl for it and youngest bought me the sausage making attachment for Christmas one year. Resident Chef is going to love it.
ReplyDeleteI like that vest pattern. Thanks for sharing.
God bless.
There are lots of attachments for the Kitchen Aid by the look of it, but I don't think he'll be wanting any (although I could be wrong!)
DeletePretty colors - on my screen the hat and mittens look like Wedgwood! I love that little billfold but it's way outside my skill set - maybe someday :) And the tiny trees!!!
ReplyDeleteThe blue in the hat & mittens is a nice denim-y shade in real life. I won't likely be making the billfold either, but there might come a time.
DeleteSherry of createology: I am so very grateful for all veterans and those who have allowed us our freedom. Cute hat and mittens. Mr. Resident Chef certainly does need this gift since he is such a great kitchen master! I have one and it is the best. Lots of great links…thank you dear. This quote fits me to a T…I love to see all of my wonderful things I love so much. November Warmth!
ReplyDeleteYes, Resident Chef will enjoy his new toy I'm sure.
DeleteOooh, purple, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteWell of course the mixer needed to be given early, how else can you get ready for the holidays properly?
Purple? Actually it's denim-y blue in real life. Blame the lighting.
DeleteAnd yes, of course he needs the mixer to do all the holiday baking!
Another beautiful hat and mittens set Mary Anne. Fabulous early present for testing by the resident chef! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine. And yes, R C is going to have fun learning how to play with his new kitchen toy. My gift is getting to eat what he creates.
DeleteYou are going to love your mixer. Me G got me one. Little did he know it would save my arthritis mixing meatloaf which he absolutely loved for me to make. Thanks for honoring Veterans. I spent a great deal of time on a tangent checking out Libby's Lifestyle. I believe I found a gift to make for great grandson. Joy's Jots
ReplyDeleteI won't be using the mixer - that's Resident Chef's exclusive domain and I'm happy. I am the official taste-tester of what he produces with it.
DeleteGlad you found something of interest in the links!
Wonderful early Christmas gift! I noticed that Kitchen Aid was having some wonderful sales last month and it pained me to pass on buying a pro model like this, but I just couldn't justify it having recently inherited a smaller kitchen aide from my MIL when she passed in 2020. I hope I don't regret it. I'm not commenting on everything, but it's exciting to see all the goodies your Resident Chef is making with his new toy. :)
ReplyDeleteWe don't normally pay any attention to the Home Shopping Channel on tv but Resident Chef was scrolling by and noticed Kitchenaids on offer. The price was really good so we went for it. He's certainly loving it!
