Happy Valentine's Day!

After much faffing about I finally got my camera to play nicely with the computer so I have a picture for you...

For some reason the camera and the computer didn't want to play in the same sandbox this morning so it was a struggle to get even this to show you.  Maybe they're cold - it's *only* -21 Celsius outside this morning (which, for those who use Fahrenheit, is about 5 below zero).  We won't discuss the windchill factor.

Sorry there's not more to show you - but I've been too busy being social and doing mundane things like errands to get much time to pick up needle and threads

Today's quote is from Erich Fromm...."Love is an act of faith, and whoever is of little faith is also of little love"

    1. I agree - Valentine's Day just isn't for lovers - it's a day that's about love itself.

  3. Hi Mary Anne, those denim dogs are gorgeous - I wonder how the eyes are made - they're not denim, are they? I often wish I was that creative, but I guess we can't all be the same!
Thank you for wishing me happy birthday today (ha ha) - yes, it's true - I think that's why my name is Val. (My sister was born in June, and June is her name too.) :-)
    Hugs,
    Val (UK)

    1. Oh - I am SO glad I wished you happy birth day! Hope you doubly enjoy your day. As for the eyes - I don't have a clue how they were made but I don't think the artist used denim.

  5. Just dont like that -5 stuff. I would rebel like your camera & computer. The reason we in winter flee Kentucky which was 19 this morning & go to Florida which was 70! Stay warm with your beautiful needlework.

    1. I'm quite happy to hibernate and play with needle and threads. Winter is fine, as long as it's out there and I'm in here!

  6. Love your CQ dear. Are your little pink buttons sewn down with an oat bead to make them so cute? I did like your awww link. Happy Valentine’s to you and Resident Chef. XO <3

    1. I often use oat beads and buttons together ... more fun than just using thread to sew down a button.

    1. We don't do anything for Valentine's Day - haven't for years. Guess the bloom is off the romance! And yes, those denim doggies are amazing.

  8. I truly do love the colors you're working with here. So soft and subtle. And yet, very rich. Glad I read through the comments above, as I didn't realize what I was looking at with those pink buttons and beads. Beautiful!

    1. Thanks Becki - I don't normally work with much pink but decided this really needed it (primarily because of the pink roses in the image I chose). Hoping for a finish on this one shortly.

  12. That is a beautiful project Mary Ann. I see the sweet little stitched heart between the stitched flowers, lovely touch.

    1. I couldn't do all that pink stitching without including a heart - hmmm, I guess it was rather fitting for Valentine's Day too.

It was 0 degrees here when I went out to do chores this AM. A bit nippy, but at least the sun shone today - no new sleet to add to my collection.

    1. Thanks Quinn. Glad you didn't get any more sleet - nobody needs that. Snowing here tonight.
