Embroidery is done

The embroidery part of this project is complete I think so here it is...

And here are closeups ....

This afternoon I hope to put it together
so there *might* be a reveal on
Wednesday (don't hold your breath tho')

Here's a quote I found that bears thinking about...."Handmade gifts are NOT cheap.  If someone has given you a handmade crocheted (or knitted)  afghan, the average cost to them (not including time spent) for materials averages $45-$50.  Each skein costs about $6 and each afghan pattern requires approximately 8 skeins.  If someone made you an afghan, it took them a month or more to make.  They love you"

    That quote is spot on.

    1. Thank you! As for the quote - it's definitely true. Very few people (unless they are also a crafter) truly 'get' the cost of a handmade gift, nor do they value your time.

  5. Do true about valuing the effort and skill that goes into handmade. There's a reason the word knitworthy came to be!

    1. Yes, knitworthy is most definitely a thing. Not everyone fits that criteria.

  7. So glad for the close-up pictures that I could embiggen further. Such pretty embroidery, Mary Anne. Looking forward to the final reveal! And that rosette pincushion is a fun twist (pun totally intended) on a pincushion.

    1. Thank you Sherry! I've always thought handmade is far better than store bought, hence the reason I make most of my gifts and have done since I was in my early teens.
