Something special, some creating, and some thanks

I will begin with the thanks - thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers over the horrible fires that are burning out of control in Alberta.  For those that are concerned - I don't live anywhere near that area so we're quite safe.  As of the latest update there were twelve new fires as of yesterday, bringing the total number of fires in Alberta to forty - 5 remain out of control.  Very little rain is predicted in the immediate future and what little there might be is likely to evaporate before hitting the ground.  Today they are moving vehicles and people from north of Fort MacMurray through the city and onward towards cities in the south where there is help available.  The situation remains dire and prayers are very much needed for the people who have lost their homes and livelihood, along with the brave men and women who are fighting the fires.

On another, happier, note.  Something arrived in the mail today.  My #2 son and daughter-in-love spoiled me with a delivery of CHOCOLATE!!!  Do they know me, or what?

It's hard to tell in this picture but that long piece of chocolate is formed into something that looks like a tree limb.

Almost (note, I said ALMOST) too pretty to eat!!

Thank you Shawn & Winnie!!!

I've completed the stitching on two of the postcards...

Today your quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson... "Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously.  And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude"
And I wish all of you who are mothers
a very happy Mother's Day weekend.

  2. Lovely chocolate! Yum!! The postcards are beautiful. Are they actually paper? Or card images printed on fabric?

The news out of Alberta is beyond distressing.
