A few mumblings and another postcard

Tonight a knock came at our door and it was our across-the-hall neighbour very generously offering to share her pickings of fiddleheads.  Needless to say, I wasn't long taking her up on it!!

She gave us enough for at least a couple of meals.
Yum!!

One more postcard completed today.
#7 of 19.

Today the quote is from Mary Stuart...."To be kind to all, to like many, and love a few, to be needed and wanted by those we love, is certainly the nearest we can come to happiness"

I had to Google fiddleheads. I have been around ferns all my life, but never knew you could harvest those things, and eat them. Or that they were called fiddleheads. Very interesting! This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone eating those. I always like coming to your site to see what is going on, but this is the first time I've learned something having nothing to do with embroidery or quilting or sewing! Thanks!

  10. Your postcard is lovely. I do know Fiddleheads however I have never eaten any. I understand they are quite delicious. It is storming with thunder and rain and hail today with snow at 6000 feet for the ski resorts. I have just signed up for Shawkl's CQ May 2016 class. You have inspired me.

  11. Mary Anne, lovely postcards, are you swapping these? Fiddleheads are so yummy. I've missed my first greens of stinging nettle that grow up the country road in Quick. Everything is cultivated here in Victoria!!
Thanks for the links, really nice to discover another online knitting magazine.
