First exercise

This is the first exercise in the new online class I'm taking from Karen Ruane called 'An Embroiderers Ledger'.  The thought of trying to match colours scared the daylights out of me but it wasn't as hard as I thought it might be.

If the colours don't match, please don't ruin my illusions of grandeur.  I LIKE having my head in the sand because it's nice and quiet down here.

  1. We all see colour slightly differently, so don't knock your talents---it's a perfect exercise and you've done great :)

  2. You only have to think about if the colors match in YOUR eyes, right? Right.

I think this would be an interesting and challenging exercise. Color can be my nemesis.

I hope you'll tell about your next step.

  3. And shady, too! lol
It looks great, and I love your reference photo! I am becoming a fan of the pinks, greens and cream look.
    Enjoy your class!

  5. I think your color matching is well done! I have noticed that I see a color different depending on if I look at in daylight or if I look at it when it's dark out and I'm using indoor lighting.
It makes a big difference for me, so I try to make sure I pick my colors during the day if I can.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
