After several starts and rippits, I managed to convert a pattern for maple leaves into a hat that I know my family will like better. The original pattern is THIS one which I changed by using the ribbed pattern for a brim from THIS hat that I know our family likes.
- As a coffee lover, I couldn't help but drool over some of THESE.
- If you're a fan of granny squares perhaps one of the designs found HERE will inspire you.
- I thought THIS was a fun design.
- HERE is a tip you might find of use.
Today's quote is from Maximillien Robespierre...."The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant"
Nice beanie!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope our family likes them when they receive them for Christmas.
DeleteThose coffee ideas are very tempting indeed - it's chilly today for an ice cream float, but...still tempted!
ReplyDeleteI drink coffee at any temperature any time of the year so I'm seriously tempted too.
DeleteOh my gosh, that sea glass quilt!! And I love your maple leaf chapeaux. Perfect modification for a cozy and functional result.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was very intrigued by the sea glass project too - never seen anything like it before.
DeleteAs for the hat modifications, our family likes (and needs!) an extra layer of warmth over their ears so adding the ribbing was the best thing to do.
oooh yummy iced coffee recipe!! I will definitely start some today--I LOVE cold coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 in it...thanks so much for that linky;))) I'll let you know how it comes out...(sigh, long wait huh??) ;)))
ReplyDeleteI am going to sew a mid-green color binding on my Strawberries this morning; did my weekly food shop early so to have more time..
.I hope your weekend is a good one (did you read the European response re tariff craziness?--good for them I say!!)
hugs Julierose
I drink a lot of cold coffee in the summer months but I'm not adverse to having it in the winter too.
DeleteYes, I had read the EU's response and agree with you. The entire world needs to unite against the orange idiot so it's good to have additional support.
Nice adaptation of the hats. They'll like these, I think.
ReplyDeleteAt least they'll be showing their patriotism!
DeleteLove the hats! Great links
ReplyDeleteGood quote.
Thank you!
Deletemaple leaves need to be seen - we stand with Canada (Thing One is so out of your PM's league - if it wasn't so devastating to both our countries it would be fun to watch) ...... the tyrant does love the poorly educated
ReplyDeleteThank you for standing with us! It's good to know there are people on our side in all of this. And yes, we need to show our maple leaves!
DeleteLove those toques. The maple leaves are awesome. Elbows up my friend.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you - hopefully my family likes them.
DeleteHello MA: Love the Maple Leafs, so cool, thank-you for the links, I have to make the coffee float drink, sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
I'm happy with the hat pattern although I'm not a fan of colourwork knitting. Wish I could figure out how to knit with two hands so the yarn wouldn't get so tangled up.
DeleteClever switch for the hats.
ReplyDeleteLove the sea glass quilt idea.
Polish remover tip is smart.
I think our family will like this version of the hat better. Must admit I'm intrigued by the sea glass quilt (but not enough to make one!).
DeleteSherryofcreateology: MA congratulations on your designing and knitting these Canadian Maple Leaf hats. Another very appropriate quote for our times here in America! Happy Weekend Dear…
ReplyDeleteOh no Sherry - I'm not the designer! I'm just a 'changer' and revamped the designer's pattern to suit our family better.
DeleteCool Canadian hats!
ReplyDeleteGotta show our Canadian pride these days!
