As you can see I've made some progress on the latest landscape. I'm striving for the effect of fog but not sure how successful I've been. I still have to finish working on the tree and it will have some 'bits' of fog added too. Then it will be on to the embroidery.

Today's quote...
The quotation is a good reminder that it's not our job to make anyone at all happy! That's their job.
ReplyDeleteExactly! We are only responsible for our own state of mind.
DeleteThat quotation is a perfect fit for someone for sure!!
ReplyDeleteYour ground fog is looking really good;))) and i like how the house looks lost in the foggy wispiness...really coming along so well...
hugs, Julierose
Yes, it does fit 'someone' doesn't it!
Deletei don't know much about fog cuz it almost never happens here, but i think you've hit the mark! so ... how the heck did you do that?!?
ReplyDeletei can't tell you how long it has taken me to learn the lessons from today's quote - and sometimes i forget to remember, twisting myself into a pretzel - sheesh...
All I can say is organza is my friend!
DeleteThe fog is looking really good! I know a few people that quote could actually represent.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks Jackie. Hopefully it looks like fog or at least can be recognized as such.
DeleteYour pieced ground looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki! I thought it would be fun to play with paper piecing and a type of log cabin.
DeleteHi MA: Love the fog on this quilt, it does look like fog, you are so creative.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the links, they are fun to look at.
The quote is so true, they love misery.

Glad you enjoy the links Catherine. I know it's fun for me to search them out.
Deleteomg the quote is so true.
ReplyDeletefog, I use see thru sheers and let them go over sky and trees the way fog does. Your landscape is looking good!! Leeanna
I used a piece of an underskirt that once was on a wedding dress. Organza I think?
DeleteI love the concept of fog in fabric. How do you come up with these ideas?!
ReplyDeleteNothing else to do when I'm having a sleepless night but think about what I'll try to create next!
DeleteYour landscape looks so good! I can totally imagine it in real life. The links to the patterns you included look so cute! I haven't had time to really sew or stitch or anything in ages with work being super busy lately, but this is making me want to carve out some time so I can make things for my kids. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Glad you like the links.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Your landscape is coming along nicely. I don’t have a clue how you create fog. Maybe. A wavy layer of organdy fabric. Great links dear. Another very appropriate quote. I hope you are enjoying some Spring weather.
ReplyDeleteOrganza is I think what I used (it came from a 'harvested' old wedding dress so not sure what it is). Spring keeps teasing us but had more snow this morning.
