Stitch, stitch, stitch

Yes, I have been doing something but it's certainly not very exciting for you to see.  My plan is to make two of the Nutcracker ornaments and two of the chefs but I must admit making the second one is a slog.  I know what it's going to look like so there's no wondering what's going to come next.  So, here is my progress...

AND just so you know what I'm aiming for, HERE is the link to the design so you can see how they will (hopefully!) finish.  Mine won't have the fuzzy hair of the original because I couldn't locate the proper thread.

- THIS is a really pretty shawl that would use up odds and ends of yarn.

- There are a number of quite pretty shawls HERE as well.

- THIS is a nice easy-to-knit cowl that would make great gifts.

- Have a peek through the embroidered pieces by THIS artist!

Today's quote..."One of the weirdest things about being an adult is having a favorite stove top burner.  No one ever talks about it, but y'all know it's true"

Our thoughts and prayers go out to
the people of our Maritime provinces
who were so hard hit by
Hurricane Fiona

  1. Yes on the concerns about the disastrous Eastern storm. And the upcoming Ian in Florida, so many friends there.

  3. They are cute. I like the round shape.

Oh my, the quote is so true! Only recently have I questioned myself about why I use the small burnor so much, even for large pans.

    1. I liked the shape of the ornaments too and purchasing the pattern(s) helped a designer in the Ukraine.

    1. I'm not looking forward to the final assembly part so am procrastinating until I have them all stitched before I tackle that part of the process.

    1. I thought once about trying to estimate how many stitches I've done on these and then I realized that it would be simply depressing to actually know!

  7. What a mess in the Atlantic provinces. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

I have printed out the cowl pattern, and just love those 3D nutcrackers. So very interesting.

    God bless.

    1. I don't care for Nutcrackers - they give me the creeps. Could be why doing two of them isn't high on my list of loves right now.
Yes, thoughts and prayers go out to the people in the Maritimes and now we have to hope the one heading for Florida moves out to sea.

    1. I have the attention span of a gnat so have had to battle complete boredom over the second nutcracker (and then I face a second chef ornament - yawn!!!!).

    1. I fell in like with these ornaments mainly, I think, because they're a different shape than the norm.

  10. And I'm sure the fav stove top burner is never a back one?
A tree of Nut Crackers would be cute. Esp these you're making.

    1. A tree of Nutcrackers? Not on your life! They freak me out too much for that to ever happen. I'll be happy to pass these on at Christmas.
I must say, if I were doing the cooking, I would use the back right burner more than any other.

Sherry of createology: Your needlepoint ornament will be an heirloom for generations to come. Great links…thank you. Ahh yes…I have favorite stove burners for certain pans. I feel NO shame! Hahaha.

    1. I thought maybe it would be hard for people to envision what I was aiming towards for the ornaments so thought I should post the link to what it hopefully will look like.
