Treats and tots

Today, rather than boring you with the landscape that doesn't show all that much at the moment, I thought I'd show you the spring flowers I treated myself to over the weekend...

And....just as a little fun thing for our youngest grandies - three little Izzy dolls for them to play with...

- THIS link takes you to a PDF of some really cute Easter cross stitch designs

- I like what THIS person did to transform cheap planters for use in her garden.  Doesn't look all that difficult to do.

- Perhaps you'd like to pay her a return visit and check out the many pages of fun recycling ideas (go HERE).

- Have fun peeking through the gallery of THIS artist!

- If we still lived in a house with a workshop I would SO be trying out some of THESE!  (be sure to scroll down to see the projects)

Here's your quote of the day..."Before saying something that may hurt someone, take a piece of paper and crumple it up.  Now try to make it the way it was before....you can't, right?  People's hearts are like that piece of paper.  Once hurt, it's difficult to leave them the way you found them.  Before saying something hurtful, think hard about what you're saying.  Always be considerate.  Always be kind"

  1. I see your issues did get eyes, but not other features. Are you testing the reception?

    1. You got it! We'll see how they go over. If she hates the eyes they're easily removed.

  2. Your tulips are beautiful. Isn’t it nice to have a treat for YOU?! Love the sweet little knit dolls. This quote is just the perfect visual to remember to watch what we say or do to others. Happy Spring Dear.

    1. Yes, it's nice to have a treat once in awhile. I don't often get fresh flowers but I can't resist one little bunch of tulips in the spring.

    Lovely flowers and Izzy dolls
The planter makeovers are a wonderful way to make a garden shine.

    1. If we still had a proper garden I would be attempting some of those planters.
The Izzy dolls were fun to make but next time I will attempt to knit them in the round as opposed to flat and having to seam them afterwards.

    1. We've had so many grey cold days and spring is having a hard time putting in an appearance, hence the flowers.
The little dolls are going in a box filled with little things to do and play with that will be accompanying us when we visit them in a few weeks.

  6. Pretty tulips! And sweet little softies for the grands. I enjoyed the faux concrete link, and the epoxy resin projects are pretty cool. I especially liked the coasters that integrated epoxy with wood.

    1. The epoxy resins combined with wood are my favourites and how I wish I had the space here that I could try them for myself. I've priced a few pieces and they're way out of my reach.

  7. Very pretty tulips Mary Anne and in a beautiful colour too! Love your quote today a great way of demonstrating how difficult it is to take something back once it is said! Have a lovely day. Christine xx

    1. I read that a school teacher did this exercise with her class and tied it into a lesson about bullying. I thought that was brilliant.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
