I thought I'd never get done with stitching the brown part of this ornament! Now I can start adding the fun details which certainly hold my interest far longer than that awful brown.
Sorry about the horrible picture - it's dull here this morning, plus the computer won't let me crop the photo.
- If you don't smile (or even LOL) over THESE, I don't know what else I can show you. I would frame them!
- Have a peek through the galleries of THIS amazing artist!
- There's a great tutorial HERE for making thread bowls.
- She also has a tutorial for making some interesting buttons HERE.
Today's quote....
Oh that funny bunny is a riot--love these little crazed animals...made me smile for sure..hugs for a good weekend Julierose
ReplyDeleteGlad the little animals made you smile because they certainly did that for me. So cute!!
DeleteWhew, that is a lot of brown. But it's going to be wonderful when done. Thanks for the links. I've been pinning a lot of dorset buttons lately and even sent away for a kit, but I'm definitely going to try the Yorkshire ones too. I like the earrings they made and the other projects. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if I don't stitch with brown for awhile I must admit. I know I won't be repeating this particular ornament.
DeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the buttons.
Adorable characters, they are some of the best cheery creatures I've seen. They exude happiness.
ReplyDeleteThey do exude happiness and heaven knows we need more of that these days.
DeleteThat is a great deal of brown, but it is done now and you can move on to the fun details.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The details are certainly more fun to create!
DeleteJust caught up on your posts! Great reading and links...thanks so much. Meanwhile, full coverage cross stitch is a real skill. Your Toy SHop ornament is so beautiful. And I too find some aspects of a design a bit tedious to stitch...the Hawk Run Hollow house comes to my mind. I also agree, older and now I guess vintage patterns are a real gold mine. Thanks again for those links.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying working on the ornie much more now I'm past all the brown. Adding the little details is a whole lot more fun! Glad you enjoyed the links!
DeleteWell done on all the stitching on the ornament. Love all those links. They are all incredible! I particularly love those buttons; I have bookmarked the link. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found something of interest in the links. Must admit those buttons intrigue me too!
DeleteBrown would seem a bit boring. Embellishing will be the best part. I am intrigued with the thread fiber vessels and bowls. And I have wanted to make Dorset buttons for a long time. These buttons look great. I am not a quitter but sometimes wish I were. Happy first day of Spring. Cloudy and cool here.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see those fiber vessels in person. Someday (!) I'm going to try making dorset buttons too.
