Finished dress

Over the weekend I finished working on the little dress.  I'm happy with it and I think I'll make more with this pattern.  Luckily it comes with a number of sizing options so it can grow with her.  I think that now I've worked through one any further efforts should be easier.

Pattern can be found HERE.

And, while I was at it I thought I'd attempt making a pillowcase dress from the instructions found HERE

- HERE is another small project that you could consider doing to show your support for the Ukraine.

- For those of you who like frogs, perhaps THIS might catch your eye.

- Have a look through THIS gallery!  And how about the amazing thread painting projects found HERE.

- I would never wear one of THESE myself but have to admit it did make me smile!

- Anyone interested in embroidery would find THIS to be an interesting article to say nothing about the eye candy!

Today's quote...."Some days life is all about your hopes and dreams, and creating the perfect future.  But there are other days when life is just about putting one foot in front of the other, and that's OK too"

  1. The dress does look good. I'm glad you're ready for more now that you succeeded with one. And Ukraine continues to need our help and support for a long time yet.

    1. I suspect I'll be making a few little dresses over the next while - at least until the baby decides she hates dresses and wants to live in jeans!

  2. Adorable dress! The pillowcase dress pattern makes a nice womens' summer dress as well.

    1. Don't think our wee grandie will be twirling in this one - at least not quite yet. That will come soon enough!

  5. Sweet little dresses! The fabric in the second reminds me of the rainbow hearts my daughter had in her room as a little girl. So fun!

  6. You say you are not a seamstress, but I think this dress definitely qualifies you Mary Anne. It's so pretty and how neat that you could make it in bigger sizes as she grows. Back to a little winter here in my neck of the woods. Hope it's warm and sunny your way!

    1. Not warm and sunny here either - sunny yes, but most definitely not warm! Bitter wind too.
I won't tell you just how often I had to apply the seam ripper to get the dress done!

  12. Wow! Time got away! I can't believe I'm behind on 3 of your posts.
Watch out, having a new little girl in the family just might have you keeping out that sewing machine. I always felt lucky to have 2 girls then 2 grand daughters to sew little dresses. I've never been able to sew clothes for little boys well and it seems the variety allowing for creativity just isn't there.

    1. It seems that I might have created a bit of a monster with making sleep pants for our sons (both of whom are very tall and can't buy them long enough) and now I'm getting requests for the next generation of boys so I suspect that will continue for a long time to come. Having a little girl to sew for is going to be fun, at least as long as she's willing to wear dresses.
