Ouch!

Never let it be said that your writer knows when it's time to quit!  Instead of switching gears and working on something different she carried on cross stitching and then wonders why her fingers are wanting to bleed.  Never let it be said that she ever says to herself that she'll quit just as soon as she finishes this little bit more....no never let it be said.

Oh well, at least there's a start at one of the chef ornaments as you can see from this photo...

And, Resident Chef appeared in my sewing room doorway with something we've never seen before.  I don't know if the picture is clear enough for you to see but when he cut into what appeared to be a perfectly good tomato he discovered it was sprouting on the inside.   Can you see the little sprout?  The entire tomato was filled with them.

Today's quote..."When you can't control what's happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond to what's happening.  That's where your power is"

  1. That tomato has evidently cut out the middle gardener! Straight to growing.

    1. Never seen that happen before unless the seeds have been planted on purpose. Very strange!

  3. Wow! That is so neat!
I've never seen tomato with seeds sprouting inside. It is funny, people aren't alone eager for summer.

    1. Yes, it was certainly a surprise for us too. We didn't eat it because we weren't sure about it.

  4. I don't recall seeing that in a tomato but I've cut open peppers and had little peppers growing inside. Yes, and I was just working on something that was making my eyes blurry but I kept going to get it done. Now I'll be blurry for the rest of the afternoon..... but it was worth it. And I will add that I could put together tons of those mystery bags (and my husband would certainly be glad about it).

    1. I know you get it Julierose - it's so hard to stop sometimes.
And no, we opted not to eat the tomato, just in case. It probably would have been okay but you never know.

  6. The tomato is really quite something.... would be interesting to plant it in some compost and see if the seedlings grow. Loved the Easter Bunny embroidery design and the scarf... thank you for the links. Enjoy the rest of the week. Hugs Christine xx

    1. Under normal circumstances Resident Chef would have planted the little 'growths' to see what happened but we're not going to be here for a couple of weeks so they would die anyway.

  7. Can't say I've ever seen a seed sprout inside a tomato or much of anything else. Eager little thing.
When you've decided the best way to make yourself stop when you don't want to, please let me know.

    1. I subscribe quite thoroughly to the idea that 'just a little bit more' is a good thing so I don't suppose I'll be much help to you!

  8. The trouble with cross stitch is that it's addictive hence me recently making 16 Christmas ornaments. I had to stop.

    1. Addictive indeed! I have forced myself to switch gears to another project for a few days.

  9. Hahaha! I think I say that almost every evening when I'm sewing. I think . . . this is it. I'm tired. I'll quit here . . .and then I keep going until I can hardly see straight! That tomato is WILD!! Love your little cross stitch . . . I'd need a super duper magnifying glass to do that these days!

    1. I think most of us can't seem to quit when we're enjoying what we're doing.

  10. Oh fun! Another cross stitch. The nice things about not being able to stop, is eventually you have a finished project. As opposed to me who stopped (I don't even remember how long ago), and has yet to pick it up again.

When DID I last cross stitch anything?!? Oh my... I just looked back and see that it was 10 months ago! Gasp. I need to rectify that.

    1. Sometimes the fun is in the actual creating but not so much in the finishing details. Will have to wait and see on that one. I plan to stitch them all and then put them together assembly-line fashion.

    1. The tomato was most definitely weird. It was filled with tiny little sprouts but this was the biggest one. The fun thing was that the tomato itself looked really good on the outside.
