A little bit more

I guess you will be seeing more hand stitching for a wee while here at Chez Magpie.  My sewing machine is at the spa ailing with some tension issues so whatever I work on has to be hand work.  So, here's a little more progress on my cross stitch ornie...

- If you crochet, you might find some things HERE that you might want to create.  (better pour a cuppa before you go though!)

- THIS is a nice little project that will serve a myriad of uses.

- I like THIS cowl design.

- THIS is for those of you who are intrigued by zentangles.

Today's quote..."Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

  1. I love that quotation! And hand sewing is where it's at for me.

    1. I like both hand sewing and machine stitching - either one is a good thing!

  2. You've reminded me that I have a cross-stitch I have to get back too. I put it aside after I had to undo some of it because I really miscounted trying to rush to finish it before Christmas. Should have plenty of time now to be more careful. Thanks for the great links. I have a soft spot for Zentangles.

    1. I was actually thinking of you when I posted the zentangle link - I know you often do them.

  3. My goodness your stitching must be very small for this ornament. Those Zentangle drawings are beyond amazing. I tried Zentangle but since I was never allowed to “doodle” as a child I couldn’t do the Zentangling. The cowl is lovely. Another important quote dear.

    1. Just to put some context - the stitching measures about 10 1/2" x 2 1/2".
I've done a little zentangling but it's really not my 'thing'. I do admire those who do though!

  4. Wow the zentangle art was amazing. I'm hand sewing as well at the moment. My preferred choice to using a sewing machine to be honest.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the zentangles! I vary between hand and machine stitching although I guess I prefer hand embroidery of any kind.

  5. I always find it nice to have a break from the sewing room and do some hand stitching. Your ornament is looking lovely. Love that quote! Hugs Christine xx

    1. I know I'll miss having my machine handy but there's lots to keep me busy without it.

  6. So sorry your sewing machine is not feeling well. Tension gets to a lot of us. Gives you a great excuse to do hand work which you are very good at doing.

    1. Yes, we seem to all be 'tense' these days!
Hand stitching is never a hardship for me so it's all good.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
