A return to regularly scheduled programming - perhaps?

You will remember that I asked you in THIS post to vote for which landscape I will attempt next and this one was the clear winner (don't worry, I'll be doing both!).

Stay tuned, because a new landscape is about to begin!

Today's quote....Jeanne posted this on her blog and I had to share it with you....

  1. Emerson gave good advice. If only in his life could he have been so anxiety free.
I congratulate you on letting go of the childhood comb. It can be a difficult experience. I bought a clone hair brush to keep life continuity going, in a small way.

    1. I have babied that comb for longer than I care to admit. The teeth are falling out and many more are poised to do the same so I guess it's time. I won't mention the fact that my hairbrush is equally as 'vintage'.

  2. Oooh... I love that first cowl you linked to. I think I might be able to do that - simple knitter than I still am. And I'm impressed that you've used the same comb all these years. And that you could find one to replace it. I thought I had lost my favorite comb recently so tried to buy one just like it - to no avail. And then I found my comb again. I got rid of several (different designs) I bought until my old comb resurfaced. Good quote! According to Salty (above) I'm guessing he didn't follow his own advice? Isn't that the way it often is... Curious to read about Ralph Waldo Emerson now. I always end up on bunny trails when I visit you. ;^) Looking forward to the next quilting adventure.

    1. The comb isn't the same, alas, but it's the only one I could find that was even remotely close. I think Ralph Waldo Emerson was a very wise man but I know nothing about his personal life. I, too, need to do some research about him.

  3. I rather love, too, Anne of Green Gables' quote "Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it.......yet". Goody goody gumdrops....I am happy you are going to make both. I must say that Tilda quilt is pretty...and you know how I adore pretty. Perhaps another quilt on that burgeoning 'to do' list of mine.

  4. More interesting links. I like the cowl and the Stretchy cast off video. I'm hoping to make this this for next winter. LOL I don't have my baby comb or brush but my DD has saved my dummy- now perished/flat but with MOP and a gold name tag. I do like the Saying.

    1. I don't know whatever became of my baby comb....this one was given to me when I was a very young teenager by my aunt who was a hairdresser at the time. I rarely use a brush so it has stood the test of time a little better.

  5. For some reason, the title of the post made me chuckle. I wonder how many young people wouldn't "get it." Do they still say that on TV? (haven't had one for about 20 years.) Also, the Emerson piece - great reminder!!!

    1. Yes, I've actually heard that expression on tv and not too long ago. Glad you enjoyed the title!

    1. I'm looking forward to it too Christine - it's been awhile since I worked on a landscape and I think I'm suffering from withdrawal!

  8. We took a carton to the donation place today -- kitchen stuff and a few books. Moving has caused us to admit how much we have that we no longer need!

    1. Moving certainly is a great incentive to downsize stuff but I have to say it's amazing how fast, after the move, that things accumulate again.

  9. Keeping clutter at bay certainly makes for a cleaner more organized home. Well done dear. Love the next Barn Landscape.

    1. Clutter quite simply just keeps cluttering up our lives! (couldn't resist that one). My house is pretty well organized but there are still a lot of things that we simply don't need.

    1. I'm looking forward to getting started on the making of it - right now it's in the design stage and sometimes that's a struggle.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
