This is the last of the scheduled Christmas gifts being created this year at Chez Magpie. I think. Maybe. Or maybe not???
Pattern is found HERE.
Today's quote is from Helen Keller..."Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence"
It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteNot as cute as the one in the pattern, but I don't think our grandson will care.
DeleteGosh this is the cutest Monster ever. I LOVE “Where the Wild Things Are”. You are the best Grandma E.V.E.R.!!! Excellent quote Dear.
ReplyDeleteThe book has been a resounding love in our family so when I saw this pattern I couldn't resist. Don't know about the best Grandma ever, but I try!
DeleteThe Monster you crocheted is perfect! Looks just like the "real" monster...WTG
ReplyDeleteI wish the hair would have been a little more 'fluffy' but the yarn I used didn't lend itself to it. Oh well, I guess he just had a recent hair cut....lol.
DeleteJust an adorable monster--makes me wish I could crochet...I only ever knitted and not usually toys...mostly sweaters, vests, afghans etc...we've been waiting since 8 a.m. for a clothes washer repairman...no call, no text --nada!! Very annoying...hoping it can be fixed and that we won't need to buy a new one...;000 [$$$]
ReplyDeleteStay safe hugs from afar Julierose
Crochet is probably my first love - it was the first 'craft' I really remember ever attempting.
DeleteSo sorry about the unreliable repair service - hopefully he/she will arrive and that it can be fixed without trouble.
Eyes glaze over...chocolate orange hat! So adorable, what else it will fit on is the question. lol
ReplyDeleteI know I won't be making one but I do know of people who love those chocolate oranges who might get a kick out of it.
DeleteSuch a cute Wild Thing. You ARE a fantastic G'ma. I Love the cowl collar, but would it sit well beneath a coat when you move your arms? I'll be searching for apron fabric now. I hope I have some suitable.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the cowl collar is meant to be worn beneath a coat. I think it's more of a shawl thing - at least that's what I would do with it. I would have made the apron too but the parcel has gone to the kids now so maybe I'll save the idea for next year.
DeleteI think the little creature is 'cute'. Great links, loved the textile artist collection of her art.
ReplyDeleteHopefully our 6 year old grandson will think he's okay. Glad you liked the links
DeleteI'm always amazed how an author could relate and take a child's nightmare and turn it into a beloved book. Your little "Wild Thing" I'm sure will make it even more beloved. He has a sweetness to his character.
ReplyDeleteYes, that monster from the book is sweet and I think that's why he's relatable to kids. Either that, or our kids are just weird!
DeleteYour cute Wild Thing will be loved by your grandson - that I am sure of.
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I'm pretty confident that he'll like it but you never know with kids.
DeleteHe's really cute! He looks like he is the perfect 'cuddly' monster! Hope you're having a good week! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteCuddly monsters are the best!
