Happy Mother's Day weekend!

(for some reason, Bloggrrrrr is having a hissy fit and won't let me set up this post properly!  So - sorry - but it looks like you will have to get your quote of the day at the beginning, rather than the end).

Today's quote is from Elizabeth Stone.... "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body".

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

Look what arrived this morning, courtesy of #2 son and daughter-in-love!  I'm definitely a lucky mom!!

#1 son and daughter-in-love had planned to take both mothers to a lovely big greenhouse tomorrow, but we've had to decline.  Neither DH or I feel our allergies can cope with an influx of scented flowers and plants at the moment.  It would have been such a lovely outing though.  Hopefully once the allergies straighten up and fly right, we can re-schedule our trip.

  2. Awww, what a shame. I rely on over-the-counter meds if I am going out somewhere where I don't want to sneeze my head off or keep a tissue under my nose.
    Beautiful flowers.

  7. Oh, what pretty flowers! :)
I know what you mean about the overwhelming effects of seasonal allergies, and sometimes it really is better to avoid the conflict altogether, as we are seriously outnumbered! I must spend part of each day outdoors no matter what, so lately I'm trying to get the balance right with over-the-counter antihistamines and decongestants. My goal is to stay awake during the day, asleep at night, and breathing at all times.

  8. Happy Mother's Day. Your flowers are lovely. I suffer from allergies too and dread when the Lilac bloom. I love them SO much but that is the start of my miseries.
    Have a wonderful day.
