The mail brought my copy of 'Embellishing Crazy Quilts' by Kathy Seaman Shaw (known as Shawkl).
Kathy has done an outstanding job on her book. It includes four pages of stitch template patterns, 150 charts of combination stitches in multiple scales; 104 monogram motifs; and over 60 other motif designs. I know this book would be an excellent addition to your library, particularly if you enjoy crazy quilting.

The mail also brought my copy of Karen Ruane's 'Embroidery' book....
If you follow my blog you will already know how much I admire Karen's work, so this book is a little treasure to have in my hands to drool over any time I feel the urge. I'm lucky enough to own a pincushion from Karen too and it's exquisite (and, I might add, it will NEVER be poked with horrible needles!!).
I wonder what might come in tomorrow's mail?
Oh I love books! It looks like you got a good haul~~~mine was art supplies! :-D Plus I got an art book the other day.....
ReplyDeleteMail is fun!!!

ReplyDeleteoh, I'd love to learn more about natural dyes! I'm fairly new to CQing, so it would be a wonderful reference for creating colours on fabrics. Please enter me in the draw. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, now I'm drooling! I would love to win the book on dying because that is next on my list of things to learn. I'm sure your two new books are awesome. I've been tempted, but they will have to wait. Take care, Connie
ReplyDeleteThe outdoor environment is full of goodies that would make great dyes. I just don't have the know-how but would love to learn. You seem to be adding some lovely books to your library.
ReplyDeletethankyou!! but please....stick pins in it!! I don't want to go in the draw...I have that book, it's a brilliant resource even if I will never dye anything!!
ReplyDeleteOh my since I've been dyeing fabric I've always wanted to learn natural dyeing. I grow things purposely to do things with them, such as herbs for oils and vinegars, roses and other plants for putting into soaps...etc. I just love handmade nature things, even in my dolls I add a bit of nature.
ReplyDeleteAll great books here MA!
Did I mention I 'really' need this book~lol. Connie
ReplyDeleteOh that book would be lovely to have in my library to be able to know how to experiment with dyes what fun, thanks for the chance to win.
