Recently I was given a margarine tub crammed full of orts..... The lady who gave them to me was rather mystefied as to why on earth I would even want them but is quite willing to save them for me. After Christmas (when time is a little more available) I plan to play around with them and make some useable fabric for backgrounds in art pieces. At least that's what I hope will happen!!
What are ORTS?
ReplyDeleteOld reusable threads?
Thanks for your comment about the poor old dog...the vet says she past the use of glucosamine..she is 13 so we are looking towards the end I think. She just needs to be comfortable.
what a wondrfully fun gift! They'll be lovely as backgrounds...
ReplyDeleteOrts could be a whole new art in and of itself.... Free, colorful, and anything goes, eh?
ReplyDeleteoooo...what a wonderful lovely mess of orts you have, my dear. It makes my fingers itch.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI love orts...especially orts from other people since I never bother to save my own! I've used such "trash" for creative fabric and each piece is truly unique and wonderful. I hope your creation will thrill you too!
I'm really missed reading blogs during the past six weeks while at the MacNamara Foundation in Maine. The foundation only had dial-up service. I had my own broadband connection but it was still much slower than high-speed. Thus I really couldn't thank people properly for leaving comments on my blog. Believe me, I wanted to do this. The positive energy I received was truly my support and encouragement while among so many high educated, very articulate, and extremely accomplished professional artists. So....THANK YOU for your kind words!
Susan
