I took artistic 'freedom' with the original photo and decided I wanted to add a wooden fence. Good idea but I forgot to remember (hah) that stitching all those little wooden boards takes a LONG time (almost two days to be exact!). I did a little bit of trapunto (and paint) to create the clouds. And...you will notice there's another 'Him and Me' been added. Next up on my dance card is to add some embroidery - just because I can.
- I know I sent you to a tutorial for these before, but THESE are a bit different and so pretty! They'd make lovely gifts I think.
- Have a scroll through the creations of THIS artist!
- My goodness - I thought sometimes I put a lot of stitches into my landscapes, but seeing THESE made me realize my efforts are paltry in comparison!
- THIS is a rather unusual design - and good for using up scraps.
Today's quote is from C.S. Lewis..."Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less"

oh good, my people are back!!! i was missing those two...
ReplyDeleteMe too! I think I just may have created a monster with them. I'm currently toying with something Christmas-y but can't decide what direction to go.
DeleteThese "peopled" pieces create such a nice feeling every time :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying playing with "Him and Me'' so perhaps there might be a couple more happen at some time.
DeleteI can imagine the story that "him and me" are telling as they look at the house.
ReplyDeleteThe working title (at least for now) is 'Him and Me - His Grandpa's Homestead'.
DeleteAnother beautiful 'him & me' quilt! I love it. Love that you added the fence, it gives another touch to it.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to have a 'no trespassing' sign so nothing for it but to add the fence. Glad you like it!
DeleteI had a feeling the couple was going to show up in this one! They're unstoppable.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think maybe I've created a monster because I keep thinking of new situations to put them in.
DeleteYou can just feel the couple reminiscing about the years they spent in that homestead.
ReplyDeleteActually, in my mind I'm thinking the couple is a couple generations removed from when that homestead was new. Working title is 'Him and Me - His Grandpa's Homestead', at least for now.
Deletethat is so pretty. I am going to attempt to catch up with what you have been up too these last couple of months!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gill! I don't suppose you've missed all that much here.
