Yesterday I put the finishing stitches into the latest landscape which is, as yet, untitled. Now it can be set aside until I see the oral surgeon in December whereupon I will gift it to him for his retirement and in thanks for looking after me for the past five years. This one measures 18x22".
- THIS might be fun to try.
- Because it's hot, hot, hot at the moment, perhaps playing with something like THIS might be just what you need to amuse yourself.
- And because mindlessness is a good thing when it's hot, how about printing one (or more) of THESE and having fun.
- And you know you always wanted to know how to do THIS...right?
- I've often wondered about attempting THIS but then I'm leery on what it might do to my sewing machine. Have you tried it?
Today's quote is from Albert Einstein..."Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth"
That landscape is certainly ready in plenty of time. I think the rope bowl would be just as easy to do by hand. Probably easier to wrangle, too. Definitely worth trying a small test drive.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm ahead of myself getting the landscape done but I know myself well enough to know that I need to do things when the spirit moves me.
DeleteLovely landscape finish;))) I especially like the sun and clouds formation...beautiful work Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThank you Julierose. I have a precious bit of that sun fabric and only use it on special projects.
DeleteHow beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda.
DeleteThat is such a lovely and thoughtful gift! Well done :)
ReplyDeleteI hope they'll like it (I'm including his wife in the 'they' because she works in the office too).
DeleteSuch a lovely landscape. The sun and clouds are something else. I am very sure that the recipients will love it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I really enjoyed working on it and couldn't wait to start another scene. Will post about it on Friday.
DeleteOMG, that is gorgeous, MA. Let’s talk about perhaps doing another one as a commission for me, ‘K?
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy! Glad you like it and I'm happy to make a similar one for you. Just drop me an email and we'll talk!
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Good Morning Dear MA: Your landscape is beautiful! Such a loving gift for your retiring doctor. Once again you have a perfect quote for “We the People” of America. I am doing some watercoloring and enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry! It's not hard these days to get good quotes .
DeleteAbsolutley stunning MA! It looks so real!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. I think I had too much fun working on this one so now I've started another.
DeleteCongratulations on another great finish.
ReplyDeleteNo, I've not made a cord basket. I would think a strong machine, needle and thread are needed, or find a soft cord.
I would think so too, but I'm not about to try it. I was just curious to know if anybody had.
DeleteBeautiful, Mary Anne!
ReplyDeleteThank you Becki!
