Another start

Some of you might remember my having had a pre-cancerous growth removed from my tongue (would you believe it's been five years?!).  I have been in a study group since then and have twice-yearly check-ins with the oral surgeon.  I learned he will be retiring in December and I really wanted to do something nice for him.  I know he and his wife have a cottage so I thought a landscape that looks like the Canadian north might be something they would like.  So....here is the beginning of it...

- THIS is interesting!!

- and THIS looks like a fun project.

- THIS takes you to a short video showing a fun technique which would be a wonderful gift.

- THIS caught my eye and I thought it would make a lovely curtain.

- Have a peek through the gallery of THIS amazing artist.

Today's quote is from Martin Luther King, Jr...."We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice.  Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity"

  2. The landscape will be a wonderful gift. (But, oh, having to change specialists....)

    1. I doubt I will be changing specialists unless there's a problem in the future. I'll have to cross that bridge if/when it happens. I don't think my current specialist will be turning his patients over to another one taking his place and even if he does, I will be maxed out of the study in December anyway.

  3. That's a lovely gift as well as a lovely thought. I often wonder about your health but haven't liked to ask in case you'd rather not. I didn't realize it was five years! How did that happen?

    1. Yes, five years - that came as a surprise to me too! And don't hesitate to ask - it's wonderful that you would want to.

  7. They are going to love that gift. Will you be getting a different oral surgeon for your checkups?

    God bless.

    1. I hope they like it. As for getting a different surgeon, I think most likely not. I have been in a special 5 year study group that's been following people with oral cancers and I will time out in December at the same time as he is retiring. The only way I would get another surgeon is if I had further issues.
