The reveal

Some of you might remember my having shown you a pile of fabrics a week or so ago (you are forgiven if you don't).  The pile of two different fabrics has now been turned into six sets of aprons and hot pads - all destined for the Christmas box.

- I've noticed a definite resurgence of granny squares and thought I'd share THIS great pillow design.  If the pictures don't show when you go there, just click on the small thumbnails and they will embiggen for you.  And, while you're there, click on her 'Free Patterns' and explore the other wonderful designs she has on offer.

- HERE is a fun little project.

- And so is THIS.

- Of course THIS caught my eye.

- THIS looks like a pretty easy thing to create and I think it would look good with brown bags too.

Today's quote is from Confucius..."An evil man will burn his own nation to the ground to rule over the ashes"

  1. I wonder who Confucius had in mind when he wrote that?

    1. They were fun to make and I was doubly happy with the fact that I used up all but a couple little scraps of the fabric.

I remember years back, we stitching bloggers got into making aprons. If I cooked, an apron would come in handy! My mom used to say, I only had a kitchen because it came with the house! LOL!! Actually I do have some that my mom made me and I do use them when I bake. Just haven't had time to bake anything lately.

    1. I've never been an apron user myself and the Resident Chef doesn't use one either. The people these are going to I think do use them so hopefully they will be a welcome gift.

  5. You are right, granny squares are all the rage in crochet right now. I don't like to make them because I don't like the putting-them-together step. I love crocheting in rows so that when I'm done, I'm done. Your kitchen set is so nice!

    1. I don't mind putting them together - it's the tying in of the ends that I don't like.

Have to say, that white wreath link makes me want strawberry shortcake with a massive topping of real whip cream. 😀

    1. Now there's a thought! Saw a pint of strawberries in the store this afternoon for $7.99 - nope. Don't need strawberries for that price.

    1. Last year I wasn't quite so organized and everything was a rush at the last minute. Hopefully I can avoid that this year.

  12. Those are beautiful. This reminds me... I have hot pads for all of my kids cooling off in a basket waiting for me to put bias tape around them. I didn't get them done in time for last Christmas, so the goal is to finish them for this Christmas. Why can't I be more like you and work on this kind of thing year round? Don't answer that. It's rhetorical. ;^)
