Yes, more progress on the landscape, namely some areas have been quilted, others have had netting added to tone down some of the fabrics, and there's been a layer of Mod Podge and crumpled tissue paper highlighted with paint to create the cement floor.
- THIS is one of those awwwww things.
- Have a look through the galleries of THIS artist! And THIS one too!!
- THIS process intrigues me and if we still had a garden I'd be tempted.
- THIS made me laugh.
Today the quote is from Jon Acuff..."Be brave enough to be bad at something new"
I did that moss thing, with varied results, on the old wood fence, now gone. It was fun to try, I'd encourage it.
ReplyDeleteIt does look intriguing but I have nowhere to put it. Doubt the building management would be thrilled if I were to attempt to grow moss on our balcony wall!
DeleteWOw--your piece is really coming together so well--you are so creative in your use of different kinds of "stuff" that I would've never thought to use...love the shadow on the flooring!! Beautiful WIP---hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with this one and surprised myself that it's turning out as well as I had hoped. And yes, I do use all sorts of 'stuff' to achieve the effect I'm hoping for.
DeleteNow that is really looking good. Things are moving right along on your newest creation. I love it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It has changed a lot since this photo - come back on Friday to see the final reveal!
DeleteSherry of createology: Hello Dear MA. Your landscape is looking so good! Each detail you put into the finished landscape really makes it so realistic. Rocky Raccoon is adorable. My effort at felting did not continue after one hedgehog I gifted. Interesting quote today.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I'm not a felter either, but I do appreciate what other people can do.
DeleteHer quote: “Be brave enough to be bad at something new.” Wonderful... that's the only way you can live out creativity and the joy of do :-))
ReplyDeleteYour fabric painting is incredibly great. I'm excited.
All your favorite films belong to me too :-)) A hug for you and a warm greeting from Viola
p.s. but of course I would also like to be good at what I do :-)
I guess being bad at something can be looked upon as being a good way to learn what not to do (and heaven knows I do that a lot!!). I was excited to tackle this landscape - and I think I'm happy with the end result...stay tuned tomorrow for the big reveal.
DeleteI'm catching up backwards, if you can't tell. This picture looks so cool done in fabric.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the original photo I knew it would be perfect recreated in fabric so I couldn't resist and luckily the photographer kindly granted me his permission to use it.
DeleteI'd love to give that moss project a try. It's been so hot here and my shade is limited. Maybe next spring.
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be fun to try that process and if it added shade it would be even better.
